Let me first state I'm not here because i hate the Avengers franchise or anything. In fact i enjoy watching the first movie over and over (its simply fun viewing) but looking towards the upcoming Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, i feel like we are looking towards a depressing let down. The film has come upon us very quickly (what is it 2 months till release?) and heres why you shouldnt be counting down those days.

Its Filler

Lets face it what are you looking forward to Iron Man facing Ultron or Captain America? Or to further that point the Avengers verse a robot or Thanos? (Plz dont take that as an insult to Ultron who is actually an awesome villain, just reflecting how general society views it). So no matter whether this movie is amazing or not, it is not the main event. It is simply a stepping stone. The MCU is focusing on the large on all the elements except those which are being used in Age of Ultron, for instance Hydra is an awesome group and a force to be reckoned with but is their threat really the focus of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? No the current focus of the Marvel films is the upcoming Infinity Wars with the introduction of characters as we lead to that.

Losing The Comics

Theres nothing wrong with comic book movies doing something different from the comics. Nothing. If its for the better. The MCU has profited thus far mostly when its stuck close to the comics with new spins (e.g. Captain America 2) as opposed to changing the source material (cough Mandarin cough). It looks though that Marvel has decided to make many many more changes in [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035), besides the origin of Ultron which is sure to be heavily debated (but will probably work well within the film) the ramifications of this such as the interesting relationship between Hank Pym and his creation will be a lose to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel steering away from the source material is not a reason to boycott this movie but it is worth some nerves.

Theres so much more to be looking forward to!

Lets face it whatever you want to say the movie event of this year (in what will be a relatively 'quiet' movie year isn't even Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, its Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This is the movie of the year. So look forward to that instead.

Looking further forward at all the CB movies coming up, Avengers 2 is just a speed bump. Next year alone [Deadpool](movie:38663), Batman v. Superman and Captain America: Civil War are huge. These movies by themselves would make a big year but they are coupled with X3 (version 2), Doctor Strange and Suicide Squad add more to be looking forward to. These movies are the things to be looking forward to! They are destined to define the Comic Movie Genre for years to come, so sit down and wait... Avengers 2 may seem like something to be looking forward to but guys its not that big of a deal and may not be that great anyway.
