ICYMI: Yahoo! has just released a teaser trailer for season 6 of the cult-hit-show, Community. If you haven't seen it, or just want to see it again, take a look!

This show has gone through a lot of changes since the first season back in 2009. Creator Dan Harmon left before season 4 began and returned for season 5; Chevy Chase (Pierce Hawthorne) left the cast during season 4, Donald Glover (Troy Barnes) left half way through season 5, and now it seems Yvette Nicole Brown (Shirley Bennett) will not be in season 6. The show has had some help filling the void these actors left behind. In season 5, we saw the return of Professor Ian Duncan (portrayed by John Oliver) and the introduction of Buzz Hickey (portrayed by Jonathan Banks).

Season 6 is no different. Although we do not see Oliver and Banks in the trailer, we are treated to two new but familiar faces.

Paget Brewster (best known for her role as Emily Prentiss on Criminal Minds) has been casted as "New Shirley," Francesca "Frankie" Dart. From what I can deduce from the trailer, it appears that her role within the show will be Vice Dean or at least someone of power within Greendale. I'm assuming the partnership with Dean Pelton will be that of Ben Wyatt and Chris Traeger of Parks and Recreation; a sort of good-cop-bad-cop routine. Pelton being his normal ridiculous, cheerfully odd self opposite Dart who appears to be a bit more professional in comparison.

Keith David is known for many roles in Platoon (1986), Crash (2004), and the 2011 TV series The Cape (fans of the show will understand the irony) just to name a few. David has been casted as Elroy Patashnik. We only get a short glimpse of this character in the trailer but here's what we can take away: he's super intelligent, rather outspoken, and might be the token black guy of the group. I can see him being the cross between Shirley and Pierce: someone rather level headed but can delve into the absurd. Case in point...

One thing that Community has done season after season is throw out the most random episode concepts around. From KFC space adventures, to military ration zombies, stop-motion Christmas specials, and the instant-classic paintball epics; you never know what to expect from the show. I, for one, can't wait to see what season 6 will be like despite all the changes over the years. March 17th marks the launch of season 6. Let's all hope that a movie is in the works as well!
