It sounds like an episode of Bones or CSI, but what is playing out in this grisly scenario is totally real. A guy in Fort Wayne, Indiana was clearing out his crawlspace... and what he found may prove to be another victim of a notorious child killer: The Candy Man.

Posted to Reddit and Imgur, images show bones he found beneath his house - but first, you have to understand who The Candy Man was...

Bearing no relation to the Clive Barker novel and movie of the same name, The Candy Man is one of America's most prolific serial killers, with a minimum kill count of 28 victims - all young boys. Dean Corll is not the most well known murderer in the USA, despite his sadism and victim total outstripping even Jeffrey Dahmer and Richard Ramirez.

He was called The Candy Man because of his family business running a candy factory in Houston Heights Texas - and often gave away free candy to local kids.

With the help of two young accomplices - one of whom shot him dead in 1973 - he abducted, raped, tortured and murdered 28 young males... or at least, that's how many bodies could be confirmed by authorities.

Police raided his boat house in Southwest Houston, finding 28 bodies they could tie to him. However, cops suspect that Corll may have killed many, many more... and in 1960 he moved away from Texas to be near his grandparents in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Fast Forward Over 50 Years...

Now, in 2015, a man in Fort Wayne has found human bones in the crawl space under his house. He suspected that the bones were human and posted to Facebook for confirmation from others.

The ball-like shape at the end and the length of the bone led him to believe that his find was actually a human femur - the longest bone in the body. More creepy still - distinctive biological evidence (such as the epiphyseal plate) indicated that the bone was from a human child.

The creepy discovery may help police identify the child who has come to be known as The Candy Man's '29th Victim.' Cops searched the house of his accomplice, Elmer Wayne Henley, and found the above photo of a terrified, handcuffed young boy.

We can only hope that the grisly find of these bones can help bring closure to the family of what could be another of The Candy Man's victims...
