Hello Pilots! Here are two posts in one! Some exciting DC Cinematic Universe reveals have been happening lately. Let us begin.
So while it is not a new image, it is a much clearer look at the King of Atlantis! Humans of Earth, I present to you:
A textless image of Jason Momoa as [Aquaman](movie:264237) in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Hail the king! I know you have seen it before, but just stare at him for a few seconds.
Yes, there is no "Unite the Seven" on here. Unfortunately, it still is cropped above his pants. The image comes from Entertainment Weekly.
Now, here am I to give you a small breakdown on his costume. Unfortunately, this picture is still filtered to fit a theme. I'm sure his hair has blond streaks and that the trident is closer to gold than silver. A lot of this information comes from Screen Rant.
Do not forget anything that Zack Snyder says! When defending Aquaman on a radio station, he may have revealed a plot detail:
“The cool thing with Aquaman is his trident – people don’t realize that can actually cut the flesh of Superman if they came in contact. That’s a thing that’s in the canon.”
Why would Snyder say this? Maybe because Aquaman meets Superman. Most of the Justice League is in this movie. We already know five of them and Ezra Miller as The Flash is unknown. Nevertheless, Superman will share some experiences with all of them. It's been rumored that Aquaman will attack Superman because of all the destruction the World Engine has caused.
The trident itself is powerful. It is to Aquaman as the hammer is to Thor. You'll see the full extent of it in Aquaman (the movie--that sounds amazing).
According to Screen Rant,
The armor, along with the trident, is fairly common for any and all warriors intended to imply a connection to the sea. The fisherman’s weapon was used by the Retiarius – gladiators in the Roman Colosseum who sported a similar single-arm shoulder and arm protection (known as a manica).
There you go. The manica definitely looks bad@$$ on the Aquamoa.
The Spearhead Engravings and Tattoos
Also according to Screen Rant, the engravings and tattoos on his upper arms are overlapping spearheads and they show courage and battle strength.
The Shark Teeth Engravings and Tattoos
Jason Momoa has explain his own arm tattoos:
“It’s something my cousins all have, and it goes on the left side of your arm—it’s like a guardian. It’s basically like your power animal, whatever animal represents your family or your tribe. And ours is a shark, a mano. And then there are arrows that face out—out of your heart, that’s what it represents.”
It sounded so awesome that Michael Wilkinson basically used it as a costume element, as seen on the gauntlets.
Moving on, let us talk about a future DC Cinematic Universe movie -- [Suicide Squad](movie:2283363).
Here is how Aquaman connects [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870) with Suicide Squad!
Take this with a grain of salt. Now, here is an Instagram post from Latino-Review's El Mayimbe.
His caption (basically his scoop) reads:
RT! #suicidesquad #skwad HUGE #RUMOR #SPOILER #WARNING Sources tell me in the lower levels of the prison where #AMANDAWALLER keeps all the SUPER POWERED META HUMANS, she has inside a trophy case - #AQUAMAN's TRIDENT as seen in the recently released still with #JasonMomoa! How did she come into the trident's possession? What happened to Aquaman in #BatmanvSupermanDawnofJustice? The plot certainly thickens! Very cool nonetheless. Love me a good mystery. #trident #DC #dccu #dccomics #dc movie #SCOOP #SUPERPOWEREDMETAHUMANS #BatmanvsSuperman
Yes, it makes no sense. Aquaman needs to appear in Justice League and he is not as powerful without his trident. I'm thinking it will actually be Black Manta's stolen scepter that Waller has in possession and not Aquaman's trident. However, if Latino-Review is right, the story better be clever.
There have also been rumors of Batman appearing in Suicide Squad which sounds very cool. It would make more sense for Batman to be the one who connects Dawn of Justice and Squad.
Kahina is in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Kahina has the ability to see into the future. It really helps in battles because she can avoid getting hit. Seen on the Batman v Superman set was a trailer that read "Kahina Double." I'm guessing that she will aid Aquaman in whatever he does.
In the beginning of the "Aquaman and the Others" story arc, Kahina is killed by Black Manta. Black Manta seeks to find the relics of Atlantis and kills Kahina as a warning.
That's all for now!
Hope you liked everything!
