Information regarding Neill Blomkamp's upcoming Alien 5 is starting to leak out onto the internet, including some rather interesting looking concept art.
Of the more talked about pieces included what appeared to be a seriously scarred Corporal Hicks, who was first seen in James Cameron's Aliens. With this mind, speculation began to develop that Michael Biehn's character could be returning for Blomkamp's Alien 5, and from the sounds of things he's up for it.
Now a Reddit user claims to have quickly chatted with the actor at the Pensacola Comic Con last weekend. When asked if he had been contacted about the new Alien film, he reportedly "smiled and said, 'Yes'". He was then asked if he would be game for returning to the franchise, he replied by saying, "Looks like it!"
Blomkamp has already stated his film will take place after Aliens and before Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection. The involvement of Biehn's character makes sense in this timeline, as he only meets his end in Alien 3.
However, Blomkamp was eager to refute claims he was trying to gloss over the latter two - more poorly received - Alien sequels, telling AlloCine:
I’m not trying to undo ‘Alien 3′ or ‘Alien Resurrection,'… My favorites are the first two movies. I want to make a film that’s connected to ‘Alien’ and ‘Aliens’. That’s my goal.
