This review is strictly based off of my personal opinion only.

‘Gone Girl’ is one of those movies where you think you know what happens and then BOOM something else happens in the movie that makes you completely confused.

Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike star in this drama/mystery/thriller about a husband whose wife goes missing, causing a media frenzy, the spotlight then turns on him making him the number one suspect of his wife’s disappearance.

I was told by several people to watch this movie because of how good it was and how Ben Affleck should’ve won a million awards for his performance. So of course I listened to the masses and rented the movie and as I sat there watching the movie I wanted this movie to never end.

I can honestly say that this movie was absolutely amazing and I’m not just saying that because everyone said it was, it was just that, amazing.

Rosamund Pike (Amy Dunne) was convincing, beautiful, and witty. Ben Affleck (Nick Dunne) was convincing, brilliant, and amazing. This was the first time I’ve seen Rosamund Pike in a movie, her performance was outstanding. Ben Affleck’s performance was absolutely amazing, truly outstanding. I’ve seen a lot of Ben Affleck movies but I can honestly say this was his best performance in a movie, absolutely loved every scene he was in.

Tyler Perry (Tanner Bolt) did a great job as well. It was refreshing to see him play a character that didn’t involve a wig or him being a sad husband. Carrie Coon (Margo Dunne) was pretty fantastic too, another actor I haven’t heard of before but plan on watching many movies with her in it.

Overall the movie was fantastic, I loved a few characters, than hated a few characters, than loved all over again. One of the best dramas I have seen in a very long time, it kept me on the edge of my seat, not so much a fan of the ending but I see why it ended the way it did.

I definitely recommend this movie.
