The Mad Titan
Thanos is was the spawn of two Eternals on Titan. Born with grey, hide-like skin and a massive body due to being born with the Deviant Syndrome, he became obsessed with the concept of death. Through bionic implementation and long hours of meditation, Thanos augmented his Eternal strengths and powers so that his abilities surpassed those of all other Titanian Eternals.
As his power grew so did that of his ambitions, soon after Thanos would leave Titan in search of an army and universal domination. On his return he devastated his home planet with nuclear devices killing thousands of his own people (including his mother) and declaring himself ruler of Titan.
Thanos is obsessed with death, who in the Marvel Universe is embodied by a female. As Time past it became apparent that Death herself was interested in Thanos, this is probably due to his nihilistic nature as well as his willingness to commit mass genocide on his own people.
The Mad Titan fell in love with Mistress Death, this being the first time he had fallen in love with another individual, to appease her he set out to conquer to universe and murder in her name, Death.
The Black Order
This group consist of five dread lords all dedicating they're very existence to further the Mad titans goals. I have written a detailed article on them, check it out here https://moviepilot.com/posts/2015/03/07/the-black-order-2759180?lt_source=external,manual
Being one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe, he has a strong influence and all that happens, what follows are just some of his conquests or attempts of domination:
After learning of its existence on Earth, Thanos heads to to the planet, on arrival he destroys a car whilst landing. Unbeknownst to him, one of the survivors then becomes Drax the Destroyer. After locating the Cube he attracts the attention of Misters Death. Willing the cube to make him omnipotent, he is eventually challenged and defeated by Captain Marvell, The Avengers and ISAAC (Titan supercomputer) who destroy the cube.
*The Soul gems from the comics are referred to as the Infinity Stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.*
Fearing Mistress Deaths rejection after his failure with the Cosmic Cube, Thanos comes to the aide of Adam Warlock in his war against Magus and his religious empire. During their alliance 'The Mad Titan' secretly cultivates a plan to reunite with Mistress Death. Slowly stealing the energy from Warlocks Soul gem, he combines it with the others and creates a weapon capable of destroying stars. Warlock tries to stop him by summoning The Avengers and Captain Marvel but is killed by Thanos in the process. Eventually Warlock escapes from the confines on the Soul gem he turns 'The Mad Titan' into stone, an ironic punishment since the lover of Death would be forever denied its embrace, shortly after his spirit reappears and follows a dying Captain Marvels Soul into The Realm of Death.
The Infinity Gauntlet
Thanos is eventually resurrected and becomes immortal, he collect the gems once more and forms The Infinity Gauntlet, a weapon that makes him nigh-omnipotent, with a mere thought he destroys half the Universe to please his love Lady Death. Once again he had enough power to make himself an omnipotent being. Many of Earth's heroes and heroes from around the galaxy came to oppose him, Adam Warlock returns and defeats 'The Mad Titan' undoing all the death and destruction he had caused around the Universe by putting on the Infinity Gauntlet.
In the MCU, we will be treated to the Infinity Gauntlet story arc in the upcoming Avengers movie Infinity War.
OH MY GOD!! EXCITED RIGHT?!
I became really fascinated with Thanos after the teaser clip at the end of the first Avengers Movie and started reading all about him. As you can see from above he is one of the Supreme beings in the Marvel Universe, an all powerful immortal God...
If you didn't know he is Thanos' son, an inhuman who has been in hiding from his father and helping all the people he could, essentially being the opposite of Thanos.
Thanos has been searching and killing all of his offspring all over the universe, the last one who remained was Thane. In his quest Thanos defeats Black Bolt who in turn detonates a bomb under Attilan (the Inhuman home city), this releases a terrigen mist that when absorbed transform all inhumans into their prime form.
After his transformation this is where things get interesting, he basically become everything he feared and hated. When Thane's powers were unleashed he killed every inhabitant of his town in the process. Ebony Maw (a member of The Black Order) arrived to seemingly aid Thane, and provided him a suit to control his powers. Maw also trapped Thane in a containment field, and informed Thanos about the finding of his son. Thanos arrived to Orollan and informed Thane he would kill him.
Powers: Thane's left hand has the ability to instantly change the very economics of existence. He lacks control of his power, thus everyone within a certain radius of him is killed, unless he is wearing the suit provided by Ebony Maw.
Thane's right hand projects an amber construct which traps everyone within a certain radius of him and leaves them in a state of "living death.
When the Avengers arrived to Orollan in order to defeat Thanos, Ebony Maw tested Thane by freeing him. Thane could escape, or could fight Thanos and become what he avoided his entire life. The boy agreed and embraced his true nature as the son of Thanos by fighting his father. Using the power of his right hand, Thane trapped Thanos and his last loyal general Proxima Midnight in an amber construct which left them in a state of "living death." Upon the defeat of Thanos, Ebony Maw started disciplining Thane into becoming something worse than anything Thanos could have ever dreamed, a better man than him.
Just take a moment to think about all this, after years of hearing about the unstoppable force that is Thanos and with his relationship with death, I came to the conclusion that he was indestructible... But here comes Thane, son of Thanos.
"He who had the power to take Death itself in his hand""WOW!"
Thanks for reading please leave any thoughts in the comments. Good day and Long Live MARVEL!
