No matter what you have to say about Kanye West, you have to admit that life is more interesting when he's doing typical Kanye stuff. Also, you have to not have ears to think his music isn't amazing and as for his antics... they're memorable at least. Sure, he might be kind of an asshole, but at the end of the day, he's just an entertainer and...

The same could be said for his newest collaborator, Madonna, who is somehow still an incredibly important pop culture figure even at the age of 56. Kanye has helped produce Madonna's next album, Rebel Heart. The two are clearly friends as you can see from the picture-taken-of-a-picture-being-taken in this awkwardly powerful selfie.

Madonna recently sat down with the Daily News and had some interesting things to say. Probably the most memorable being, "Kanye is the new Madonna. Kanye is the black Madonna."

She also added,

"We're comrades in the envelope-pushing genre," she continued. "I always feel like I'm breaking some taboo, or coming up against something. People have always judged me, and given me shit about one thing or another.'

Also, perfectly encapsulating I think how a lot of people feel about Kanye...

"I don't always agree with the things he says or does -- I don't always like his music, even," she told Rolling Stone. "But he's a beautiful mess. I love him."

In my mind, that's exactly right. At the very least, it offers a different perspective than the often super-pro or super-anti Kanye sentiment. He's just a human being. Sure, he lashes out and does bad things - and sometimes he's great - But I accept Kanye for who he is. A crazy and talented artist. Kind of like Madonna... just sayin'.
