Marvel has remained characteristically tight-lipped about their upcoming slate of shows with Netflix, so I am savoring every bit of news I can get.

The latest bit comes from Mike Colter, the actor tapped to play Luke Cage in both his titular series and [Jessica Jones](series:1168773). We knew that Luke Cage was going to be introduced in Jessica Jones, but we were previously unsure of whether or not he would have his super-strength and impregnable skin. Well, now we know!

While promoting the home video release of Halo: Nightfall, Colter had a lot to share on everything from Marvel's special training in PR and Luke Cage's abilities.

Marvel actually gives you a special training class in how not to say too much in interviews [laughs]. We’re in the middle of shooting AKA Jessica Jones and Luke Cage is a very interesting character who just happens to have super strength and unbreakable skin. He’s a neighborhood hero, very much linked to New York and Jessica Jones. It’s all part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but Luke Cage is a darker, grittier, more tangible character than Iron Man or Thor. He likes to keep things close to his chest, operate on the hush-hush. He has these abilities but he’s not sure how and when to use them. He’s a very nuanced character.

First of all, I love that Marvel has the wherewithal to give some media training to all its stars. Every studio should be that smart. Secondly, it looks like we won't have to wait to long to see Luke Cage in all his glory.

Do you think they should have waited to explore Luke Cage's origin story in his own show?
