BBC's gritty detective series, Luther, is back for a special two-part episode, and lead actor Idris Elba has been teasing fans about the return of the eagerly anticipated, critically-adored series on Twitter.
After a two year absence, the deeply disturbed yet ingenious chief inspector - DCI John Luther - is back, and it's time to face his most threatening adversary yet!
Back to Work
Details on what is said to be the show's last installment (barring a possible film) are thin, but Elba did Tweet his fans this photo, admitting how excited he was to be back on set:
Filming has begun on the two one-hour episodes, in which you can expect to see some familiar faces, including Michael Smiley (as Benny Silver) and Dermot Crowley (as DSU Martin Schenk).
The show's crafty creator and writer, Neill Cross, talked about how hard it was to say goodbye to the morally ambiguous detective:
Ever since we said goodbye to John Luther on Southwark Bridge, there’s hardly been a minute when I didn’t wonder what happened next. So I decided to find out. So I decided to find out. We’re putting the band back together; Luther is coming back where he belongs. Back to the BBC. Back to London. And back to work.
I've been absolutely glued to the captivating drama ever since I first watched it, so I simply cannot wait for this final two part special!
