Ok, so maybe cars can't fly but they sure can fall real pretty. It can't be easy for the Fast and Furious franchise to continue to top themselves over and over again but for Furious 7 they certainly seem to be up to the challenge. Judging from the two clips that have come out so far - it feels like we've been given a good idea of what a major action set piece is for this movie.
Here's the new extended trailer, which treats us to an seemingly uninterrupted look at the sky-diving-in-cars sequence.
No Tyrese Gibson's Roman is not a big fan of heights and honestly who can blame him. How many things could go wrong with the idea of strapping a parachute to a car? The answer to that question is, of course, many, many things. But it seems they've installed some security measures to make sure Tyrese doesn't chicken out. I don't know I feel kind of sorry for the guy.
But once you stitch that sequence to the one below that came out a little while ago, you get the feeling that Roman might have made it out of the skydiving car mission ok. When that trailer is over you even get the feeling he might have enjoyed himself once he touched down.
Yes, put these two trailers together and you have a pretty solid five minutes of Furious 7. No, it still doesn't tell us what the deal is behind this insane weaponized bus, but these are minor details.
Furious Public Transportation
The cars land and appear to immediately be hot on the heels of this mega bus that, aside from having a back that is a little too easily torn off, would probably make James Bond's Q quite proud.
In fact, this sequence in Furious 7 has a lot of James Bond to it. Much in the classic way those movies would start off with Bond in the middle of a mission, this skydiving/bus sequence has the feeling of the team finishing up a mission prior to the whole Jason Statham comes to town business. There seems to be a precious damsel in distress cargo aboard the bus in the form of Nathalie Emmanuel.
Does The Rock Have a Daughter?
How she's related to the story, I can't say. Did Jason Statham's revengeful brother Deckard Shaw kidnap her due to her being part of the extended Fast & Furious family? Is she related to The Rock's character? He definitely seems to have quite the interest in the events of this instalment - what with taking to the streets with that hilariously huge gun and all.
I don't know about you but the image of the Rock walking through a city street carrying a gatling gun is nearly enough to sell me on this crazy movie. Did someone put his daughter in danger? Am I just a little too convinced that Nathalie Emmanuel kinda looks like The Rock's daughter? Is there any sense in speculating what is actually going to happen in a movie like [Furious 7](movie:264263)?
