South Fellini, the Philadelphia-based design firm/comic publisher/film production company, or self-proclaimed "idea factory," behind the movie Alpha Girls has a new project in the works, and they're taking it on the road.
The new film is called American Exorcist, and it follows a young girl named Georgette Dubois. Georgette comes from a family of mystics but is, herself, more grounded, devoting her life to science. However, she must come face-to-face with the supernatural when she finds herself trapped with a demonic force on the 11th story of the American Building.
The movie wrapped principal photography on February 28th, and are now looking for financing towards distribution. You can contribute via their Kickstarter page.
There are several carry-overs from Alpha Girls in American Exorcist, including the writer/director team of Tony Trov and Johnny Zito, plus star Falon Joselyn. It also stars Bill Mosely, best known as Otis Driftwood in Rob Zombie's House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects. Moseley is an independent horror icon and gives the film some clout. He also gets to show us his softer side, straying from the psychotic character of Otis.
The filmmakers promise plenty of scares and a ton of practical effects. Now, they are headed to Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Monster-Mania Con. They will have a booth at the convention and welcome fans to come up to them to talk about Bill Moseley, independent horror, or the "Splatomatic 3000." So if you're in the Cherry Hill area and plan on attending Monster-Mania Con, make sure you check out the American Exorcist booth and say hi.
