Hello guys :(

I have some sad news for you today :(

The co-creator of The Simpsons has died after losing his battle to cancer.

Sam Simon passed away at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday after a three year battle with colon cancer.

He was 59.

Simon developed The Simpsons in 1989 alongside Matt Groening and James L. Brooks, and co-wrote more than a dozen episodes before jumping ship in 1993.

He retained an executive producer title even after he left the show, and went on the direct and consult on sitcoms like The Drew Carey Show and Anger Management. Before his Simpsons tenure, the nine-time Emmy winner penned episodes of Taxi and Cheers, and became the Taxi showrunner at just 24 years old.

After finishing writing he concentrated on philanthropy and before his death pledged his millions to PETA, Save the Children and his foundation, which feeds more than 400 hungry families a day in Los Angeles.

As he battled his cancer he said his charitable giving had provided him with a much needed form of “therapy”.

In a statement the Sam Simon Foundation said:

"For those of us who knew him, his voice will forever echo in our minds; his sense of humour will continue to make us laugh; and his compassion and generosity will continue to impact our lives.
"Sam, you will be missed by many, but there is a particular sadness among our clinic staff.
“We have been together for so long, and your absence will forever leave a void in our lives."

Rest In Peace Sam Simon

We Will Miss You :'(
