YouTube is now streaming the first episode of Powers for FREE.
Powers, based on the Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming comic book series, is the PlayStation Network’s first original series.
From 2000 to 2004, the series was published by Image Comics before moving over to Icon Comics, owned by Marvel Comics.
Following the lives of Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, two homicide detectives, who are assigned to investigate cases involving people with superhuman abilities, who are referred to as "powers".
In the first episode, when a famous superhero turns up dead, it’s up to Detective Christian Walker, a former Power himself, and his new partner, Detective Deena Pilgrim, to track down the one witness to what happened that night - a young girl by the name of Calista.
The first and second episodes were written by Charlie Huston and directed by David Slade (Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night).
The first three episodes of Powers were released today, while the first is available on YouTube, you will need a PlayStation Plus account to watch the next two and every new episode after that, which will be released weekly.
Powers stars Sharlto Copley (District 9/Chappie) as Christian Walker, Susan Heyward (The Following) as Deena Pilgrim, Olesya Rulin (Greek/High School Musical) as Calista, Michelle Forbes as Retro Girl (True Blood/The Killing), Eddie Izzard (Hannibal/United States Of Tara) as “Big Bad” Wolfe and Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders/Edge Of Tomorrow) as Johnny Royalle.
