We all have that one movie that, despite the general hate and critic panning it gets, we can't help but enjoy. Maybe even love. Movies are very opinion-based, just because a certain person, even if he's a critic says that a movie is bad, doesn't mean you should just take his word for it. For instance, I'm a big fan of the movie Constantine!
Yes, before there was the widely amazing TV show starring Matt Ryan, Keanu Reeves played the character of John Constantine in a film that, in my opinion, is widely underrated. Let me be clear, I'm not saying this movie didn't have mistakes. It had a ton.
Firstly, Keanu Reeves and Shia Labeouf did the thing that only Nicholas Cage could pull off, overact. Every time Keanu ripped his jacket off, got on one knee and held his palm out just to perform a spell or incantation, I remember being like "C'mon dude, do you really need to do ALL THAT?!"
And despite having the same premise as it's comic counterpart, it did stray away from the source material just a bit. But no movie is perfect, and though this movie was far from it, I really enjoyed it. Mainly because the plot, as hole-filled as it might be, was really good! And Keanu Reeves is one of Hollywood's most underrated actors. The dude is really good, and I never got why he didn't get the appreciation he deserved.
Anyway, that's my #SOBIG movie!
