Will Marvel's mightiest heroes be able to stop this mysterious invader?
A young woman (21-years-old) stands on the roof of an abandoned broken car before a small community of survivors
"Superheroes. We treated them as gods, kings and queens. They were our protectors. OUR PROTECTORS! Where are they now? Nowhere to be found. And look at us now... Weak, scared, pathetic and helpless without them. My brothers and sisters this can all change, trust me."
Screen fades to black
"My father knew this day would come."
12 Years Earlier
Men, women and children screaming in the streets! Car alarms going off. Buildings vibrating and shaking from passing fighter jets. Loud and terrifying explosions fill the air. It is pandemonium. The NYC Police Department and National Guard are rushing to evacuate civilians. We are now in the Mullen's apartment. Little Lana is terrified standing motionless in the living room staring at the television screen.
"Dad. What's going on?"
Stephen is in the kitchen frantically searching for supplies
Stephen: "Lana, baby. Stay away from the windows please. Daddy is kinda busy; where in the world did I place those blasted tools?"
"The TV says there's an emergency.... Dad?"
"I understand sweetheart and we're going to be leaving here very soon. I need you to head to your room and get your backpack. Pack whatever you can fit."
Cuts to a scene on Wall Street where we're listening in on a commanding officer that's part of Company C, 1st Battalion, 20th SFG(A) (Massachusetts Special Forces National Guard Team) communicating on the radio to all near by units. The streets are covered in bullet casings, shotgun cartridges, and dead bodies (both civilians and soldiers). The air reeks of burning diesel, charred flesh, and gun powder. The sound of automatic weapons being fired, explosions fromF-15 Eagle tactical fighter jets launching missiles, men yelling over one another for support and tanks roaring down the street that echo throughout the city.
"Break-break! This is Cpt. Lee Simmons of Company, C 1st Battalion, 20th SFG. Wall Street has gone FUBAR (f**ked up beyond all repair). We need QRF (Quick Reaction Force), asap, over! "
HQ: "Lima Charlie (Loud and Clear) Green-1. Have all civilians been evacuated, over?"
Cpt. Simmons: "Affirm- Holy shit! (loud sound of something being crushed and someone screaming in agony)"
HQ: "Say again repeat; Green-1. Green-1?"
Random voice: "He'll have to get back to you [chuckles]." Then there's static
Still disorient from the blast. The Captain reaches for a weapon
[Grins] "I wouldn't do that if I were you."
Simmons vision begins to clear up. His eyes begin to widen as they make contact with the anonymous figure. Its eyes begin to glow bright red with rage and the Earth beneath its feet begin to shake and crumble!
"What are you?"
Simmons doesn't receive a reply. The figure before him fires a deadly red blast from its eyes instantly turning the Captain into ash. Suddenly, a tank round hits the figure and has it flying down the street. The figure emerges from the flames . It walks furiously towards the tank (you can see the reflection of the burning city in its eyes). It is something from a horror movie. The tank's gun lines itself up for another shot.
The man begins to speed walk then jogs. Jogging turns into running, running turns into sprinting and BAM into the tank like a speeding bullet!
The impact is so powerful that the shockwave carries all the way to where Stephen lives. Scene cuts back to Stephen Mullen's apartment. His apartment begins to shake after the blast.. The shock wave shattered his windows and takes out the power.
"What the hell was that?"
Lana screams! Stephen runs out of the kitchen making his way towards his daughter's bedroom.
"Lana. Lana! LANA! Are you okay?! Answer me baby girl! I'm coming!"
Stephen comes barging into the room. "Where are you?!" says Stephen. "Shhh!" a little voice whispers, "He'll hear you daddy." A little hand comes out from underneath the bed pointing at Lana's closet. "Who?" replies Stephen. "QUIET I said!" As Lana continues to point at the closet. Stephen is confused as he walks cautiously towards the closet. He stops briefly to look behind his shoulder towards the bed, noticing two little eyes staring right back at him.
He opens the door and yells! He falls onto the floor and throws the creature off his face. [Laughter] "You're it daddy! Mr. Raspberry Jam found you!" says Lana as she crawls from underneath the bed and giggles. "What the.." Stephen says. He gets up and picks up Lana's teddy bear (Mr. Raspberry Jam) he stares at the bear and smiles."Here you go" Stephens says as he gives the bear back to Lana. Still confused why his daughter screamed he asks- "Why were you screaming? You really gave me a scare."
"I'm sorry. I only wanted to play a quick game of hide and go seek" says Lana. Stephen reassures Lana it's alright with a big hug and smile - "Ha! I can't believe you found this old thing. Man, this really brings back good memories." Lana replies with a smile "Like mom?"
Stephen's smile slowly fades away and his eyes begin to swell up. He replies- "Yeah." Before he can finish his sentence another explosion goes off in the city and shakes the apartment building.
"We need to leave now!"
Stephen grabs Lana and they make their way outside the building. Grasping the severity of this intense situation. Stephen and Lana make their way through a swarm of people as they try to find their way out of the city. A familiar voice calls out to Stephen. He approaches the familiar voice.
"STEPEHEN, STEPHEN OVER HERE!"
"Sue, is that you? What in the hell is going on?!"
"Sorry. What's going on?"
"I'm not sure... I-I... [sighs]. How are you doing sweetheart? (looks towards Lana)"
"Hi Miss Whitaker."
"I don't know Stephen... One minute CMM is talking about a meteorite falling from the sky and landing in Central Park. My God it was on every station! And the coverage continued with Captain America warning us to stay in our homes."
Random civilian shouts and points up at the sky
Before our eyes we see Spider-Man swinging from building-to-building. For a moment we experienced a feeling of hope. Until we realized something was off. "Get out of here it's not safe, MOVE!" says Spider-Man as he nears them(crowd of people). Suddenly we hear the sounds of buildings crashing around us as he gets closer. Spider-Man wasn't here to rescue us, he was being hunted and he appeared to be running (or swinging) for his life!
Stephen reaches his hand out towards Lana and slowly walks backwards
"Grab my hand Lana. Sue!"
"You're more than welcome to come with us."
"Where you heading?"
"I'm not sure, but it beats standing here waiting for whatever that is chasing Spidey to kill us next!"
The three of them run
Out of nowhere Spider-Man hits the ground. His suit is torn to shreds and Peter's face is unrecognizable . People are running all directions not knowing where to go and what to do. Hope is shattered. A figure emerges... grabs Peter by the throat and begins to toy with him. The figure states "At least your friend put up a better fight." Peter's unfocused eyes look up to see the figure holding Iron Man's decapitated head. Suddenly there's a gut wrenching
The word of the day is confusion.
"What's next or better stated who's next? Well, well... if it isn't Brucey. So, Bruce did you come to join your friends in the afterlife?" The figure states.
"How... How do you know my name?" Bruce replies
"Asshole, it's on your nerdy name tag. By the way, do you need that thing in case you get lost and need to be taken to your mama. Did you hear your friends crying for you while I was ripping into them [grins]."
Anger takes over as Bruce loses control.
In a flash the figure has its hand wrapped around Bruce's jaw in mid-transformation.
"Not today little man."
"Dammit!!! I told you we (my father, Sue and I) made it out of the city and that wasn't an easy task. It was HELL... The carnage was unbelievable. I was only 9 yrs old at the time and didn't understand the severity of the situation. Yes, I knew that we were in some trouble. Who would have known that life as we knew it would no longer exist.
Our heroes are either dead or have abandoned us!
No one has seen Ultraman since that epic day.Tomorrow's not promise and we live each day on borrowed time."
