With the 2014 Awards season done, it's time to look forward to the next biggy: The 67th Emmy Awards. Let me start this off by saying that pretty much every comedian has a certain type of humor, and it isn't for everybody. Last year the Emmy Awards was hosted by Seth Meyers, and I'm personally not the greatest fan of the man, but he did a good job hosting nonetheless! And with Andy Samberg in the ring now, also comes a lot of hate/love. I love Samberg. Ever since the start of The Lonely Island and his work on Saturday Night Live, on to Brooklyn Nine-Nine, he's done some great work. Just take a look at his performance at the Roast of James France down below.
It truly all comes down to taste, but I love it. Some might find his humor annoying, too obvious, or whatever you may have. But come on, he 'roasted the Father'!
After the Oscars, we all need a break from award shows for a bit, but it's fun to already look forward to honoring the best TV-shows in a few months, all while being entertained, or annoyed, by Andy Samberg. Samberg already bagged a Golden Globe last year for his performance on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, so who knows, maybe he'll host the Emmys, and get one at the same time!
In the words of the man himself:
"Buckle your seat belts, Emmy viewers! Like, in general you should buckle your seat belts in your car. In fact, even if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should buckle your seat belt. It can be dangerous on the road. Also, if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should strongly consider becoming one this year, because I’m hosting, and it’s gonna be a wild ride. So buckle your seat belts."
Do you think Samberg will do a good job hosting the Emmy Awards?
The 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards will air Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
