Toy Story 3, in my eyes, was the perfect end to a sublime franchise of movies. It was as witty as ever, smart and immensely tear-jerking (the toys in the furnace...). And with Andy all grown up and heading to college, we were left with a feeling of sweet closure as the toys settled into their new home.
So with the news that Pixar is currently working on a fourth iteration and it will be a romantic comedy, as excited as I am that Toy Story is coming back... rom-com? Really?
Surely they're just throwing out genres to confuse and excite us fans. Next Pixar will retract that statement and say TS4 will be a space western or something. Or a period drama with Woody's place being taken by a sentient painted stick.
Or, an action movie where Andy gets kidnapped by terrorists, and the toys rally together, one last time, to mount a thrilling rescue of their friend.
Sounds pretty cool, right? That's exactly what I thought after seeing this brilliant fan made parody mash up of Toy Story and Taken, aptly named Toy Story: Taken, and made by the talented bods over at Toonocracy.
Set ten years after the events of Toy Story 3, Woody has become a grizzled badass, Mr. Potato Head a... tattoo artist, and Buzz... well, you'll have to watch and see what becomes of our dear Buzz Lightyear.
That's so good! Good to see these guys again, in any fashion at least.
Have you watched it yet? No? Well then...
Just a little one, for old time's sake.
This is the site where poor Andy is holed up. Maybe he didn't pay them college fees...
Andy In Peril
Woody is always a toy with a plan. But what has he got in his boots this time around?
The Gang Returns
Woody travels the breadth of the U.S. to bring together his team of cohorts...
...and they all respond resounding well...
...for Andy at least.
Buzz couldn't handle the pressure of being land locked. Poor little guy.
Avenging Action Figures Assemble
For Glory... And Andy.
Let The Battle Commence!
These terrorists are no match for a bunch of plastic monkeys.
Slink & Dice
I love this bit!
And, you guessed it, you're gonna have to watch the video for its hilarious climax!
The good thing about the new Toy Story film is a new tale, new surroundings and hopefully new toys! Will Pixar include Furbies and iPads? What about Nintendo's amiibos? Ha, I guess we'll have to wait and see!
What do you guys think?
How would you like Toy Story 4 to play out?
