New Line Cinema have gained the distribution and narrative rights to what will no-doubt be the most heartwarming documentary of the year Batkid Begins: The Wish Heard Around the World.

The film documents young cancer sufferer Miles Scott and his wish to become Batkid, which was granted through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. On November 15th, 2013, San Francisco, California was turned into Gotham City for the day in one of the most elaborate Make-A-Wish projects ever. Batkid, along with Batman, solved several crimes and received the key to the city while several high profile elected officials, including President Obama, took part in the events.

Julia Roberts is already working on developing a film project based on the Batkid story, which she will also star in. New Line Cinema has also purchased the rights to this project.

Batkid fans can Batkid Begins to be released at some point in 2015, but for now take a look at the trailer for the documentary:
