Yesterday, it was announced at the annual shareholders meeting of Lucasfilm and Disney that Star Wars: Episode VIII would be released on May 26th 2017. Not surprisingly, some studios have started shuffling their 2017 summer films following the announcement.
20th Century Fox have now moved the sequel to this summer's Fantastic Four reboot, deciding to delay release of the film by one week. Originally slated for June 2, 2017, it'll now open on June 9, 2017.
This does not come as that big of a surprise, no studio in their right mind would want to compete with a titan like Star Wars, no matter what film they have scheduled for release.
Expect more announcements to come soon, chances are good plenty of studios are in the process of moving their films away from the May 26th, 2017 release date as we speak.
