Sometimes you just need a really fantastic friend film to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. So here's a list of my favorite films about friends! Each film is different and shows different stages of friendship so make sure to get a good sampling in!

1. Life Partners

I saw this adorable film because of Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl). If you're struggling with life and your best friend moving on, this is a movie for you. It's all about the growing pains of friendship as an adult.

2. Love and Other Disasters

One of my favorite films! It's super cheeky and knows it's a bit over the top, however at it's heart it's a film about two friends and their relationships. Read my other post on it here.

3. Stand By Me

If you haven't seen this movie then you should jump on that. It's a classic! Adventure and murder mystery, all written by Stephen King of course! The original film about boyhood.

4. E.T.

E.T. phone home! Okay I'm done...Elliott.....now I'm done. This is my all time favorite film! It's all about friendship and family and all that holds us together. Oh and there's an adorable alien too!

5. Goonies

Another classic! A band of kids go in search of treasure and instead find adventure and what it means to stand by your friends. It's definitely a must watch for friends!

6. The Outsiders

Stay Gold Pony Boy! For the longest time I had no idea where that saying was from, but now I do. Check out these young stars in a film about teenage gangs and what you'll do for a friend.

7. First Wives Club

Ever wanted to get revenge with your friends? Too risky right? Well you can watch it instead, in this film about three divorced women who take revenge on their husbands.

8. Now and Then

What's great about this film is that is shows four women when their grown up but also goes back to their summer as twelve year olds. Depicting the journey from twelve to adults throughout the film.

9. Toy Story

Couldn't possibly do this list without Toy Story. It's theme is "You've Got a Friend in Me" for goodness sake! I don't think I really need to say anything beyond that.

10. Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 1 & 2

This book series is a good read and has a lot more detail than the films. However, I do still enjoy the films. Make sure to check out both movies. The casting is just perfect for the foursome of friends growing apart and then back together.

11. Bend It Like Beckham

This is the of the most down to Earth friend films I've ever seen. The journey of two friends through soccer, culture, and boys. What else do you need?

12. Shrek

This is one of my more unusual picks but it's still a good one. The friendship between Shrek and Donkey is rocky at first, to say the least, but it's still a beautiful one. It's like an onion if you catch my drift.

13. Uptown Girls

Who said a child can't teach an adult how to learn and grow? Brittany Murphy and Dakota Fanning are the perfect pair for this unlikely friendship. And yes, it will make you cry.

14. Homeward Bound

One of my favorite films as a kid. While talking animals may not be your thing, it's a charming film. Three pets go on a journey to find their owners. What can be more heart warming than that?

Your Friend,

Elle
