In [Man of Steel](movie:15593) most of us wondered how in the world did Superman shave before putting on his costume for the first time? The majority of fans still unfortunately don’t have that answer.
Pietro and Wanda Maximoff or the Maximoff twins as we know them, will undoubtedly play a large role in the upcoming [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035) movie! As we have seen in all of the trailers, the twins will initially pose as a threat to the Avengers before teaming up with them by the end of the film. We still don’t know much about their origins although most, including myself, have speculated about them being Inhumans. There are also those who believe Loki’s scepter is the primary tool as to how they received their powers in the first place (this is the likely scenario).
However, a question that I have been pondering for a while now may not seem like a big deal for some, but, I disagree. That question would be, “How does Quicksilver obtain his costume in Avengers: Age of Ultron?” The answer that seems most reasonable to me is that Tony Stark will be the one to give him the uniform. But first, lets briefly discuss the sister…
This photo here features Wanda and Peter listening to Ultron plan his attack against the Avengers. Wanda is clearly wearing her red coat while Peter is wearing a simple jacket over top of his clothes. In the majority of the scenes featuring Wanda, we really haven’t seen her wearing anything else but the red trench coat over top of her other shirts. Look at the following photos and notice how she doesn’t change her look all that much, if at all. Although she may possibly wear other clothing during the film, we just haven’t seen anything else as of yet:
So far, all of these photos of Wanda give us the assumption that this is what she will primarily wear throughout the film.
Which leads us now to the brother, Peter or Pietro. What you’ll notice in the clip below is him sporting a pair of pants with what looks to be a blue shirt over a white long-sleeve one:
We also know from the film, that other members of the Avengers receive a costume upgrade, most notably [Black Widow](movie:1070824). In the photo below from the recent trailer, we see that she is sporting the new costume while handling her new two part weapon: The Sting! I can’t wait to see how she uses them in the film. You can’t deny that she looks absolutely badass in this photo:
Now, take one more look at that photo closely. What color are those lines that stretch along the outside of her uniform? Blue, right! This to me is an example that possibly gives us the reason why Quicksilver will be wearing a blueish shirt with “lighting bolts” around it.
Above is a better look at the newer Black Widow costume from a piece of concept art.
Another example that I have is the Ultron bots. Yes, I realize at this point that they are being controlled by Ultron to lay waste to humanity. However, they were programmed by Stark, initially for good, in order to protect humanity. As you can see in the above and below photos, the Ultron bots have blue eyes:
In the above photo, Ultron is grabbing what looks to be an older Iron Man armor which is also painted blue. I thought Tony Stark was a red kind of guy? But, these other creations tell us otherwise.
And finally we get a good look at Quicksilver's costume in Avengers: Age of Ultron. From this photo we see that it’s just a normal looking long-sleeve shirt with some cool designs to make it look like the more traditional Quicksilver from the comics.
Here we get a really good look at him in the uniform directly from the trailer. This scene probably takes place near the middle to the end of the film after he teams up with the other Avengers to fight against Ultron and his robotic minions.
In conclusion, I believe that Quicksilver obtains his costume from the Avengers as a personal gift from Tony Stark in order to dub him as an honorary Avenger. I also believe that the shirt will give him a slight upgrade on his supersonic speed and agility. I don’t think that it’s any coincidence that Stark upgrades his fellow Avengers. He may not seem like a team kind of guy, but he will do whatever it takes to win the war. These are some of the clues that I have gathered that may possibly shed some light on the mystery of Quicksilver’s costume. Either, that or he just purchases it (or steals it) at the nearest convenience store!
UPDATE: Since the newest tv spot has hit the web, there is more evidence which can prove my theory: Tony Stark says at the beginning of the tv spot, "I just pay for everything, design everything, and make EVERYONE look cooler." This statement should suggest that Tony will not only upgrade the current team of Avengers, but the newer additions including the Maximoff Twins. Check out the new tv spot below if you haven't done so already:
I have to say that I am very thankful that Joss Whedon decided to go with a more traditional look for Quicksilver's character in the film. This movie is going to be AMAZING and I cannot wait to see the Maximoff twins team up with the rest of the Avengers. May 1st just cannot get here soon enough!
