As young girl I loved watching Batman Forever, I still do but as I got older I was wondering and asking myself, of what the riddles mean. And then one day, I finally solved of what I believed what the meaning behind the riddles mean, okay here it is.

The first riddle that the Riddler sent to Bruce Wayne at his office desk. It reads, "If you look at the number on my face you won't find thirteen anyplace"

Meaning: clock + time = The Riddlers signal above Batmans is the Riddlers way of calling Batman to come to Claw Island to play his game.

And this second riddle that Edward Nygma a.k.a. The Riddler put on Bruce Waynes gate in a green envolope with his signature question mark on it. When Bruce Wayne goes to see Dr. Chase Meridian she reads: "Tear one off and scratch my head what was red is black instead"

Meaning: match + fire + explosion = The Ridder who broke inside the batcave and had green bat bombs, causing explosion in the batcave ruining everything.

The third riddle the Riddler leaves is at his manor, which Alfred reads: "The eight of us go forth not back to protect our king from a foes attack"

Meaning: chess pawns + game = The Riddlers and Two-Face game of battleship, which is like chess, but causes explosion when they make a move a bomb goes off under the ocean.

The fourth and finale riddle the Riddler leaves at the stairs, later Bruce Wayne and Alfred figuring out the riddles. As Bruce read the finale riddle: "We're five little items of an everyday sort you'll find us all in a tennis court"

Meaning: foul + unfair player of a game = The Riddler plays a unfair game in his lair, leaving batman to choose to save either Robin or Dr. Meridian.
