I liked Daredevil
I used to like X-Men 3
I still hate Green Lantern
But none of those shames come close to my cardinal sin of loving Spider-Man 3
Ok, love might be a strong word, but there is more behind this movie to me than what everyone else sees.
Picture in your mind a little boy, a young boy who for some reason had never read a comic book (yet), The only exposure to superheroes that he had experienced was Justice League, Static Shock, and Teen Titans.
One night, after a social outing of the Parents and other family members, my cousin, a huge Spider-Man fanatic, told me about a new movie that was coming out soon called Spider-Man 3. Being the child that I was, I immediately ran to my parents and begged to go to what my cousin called a "midnight movie" when it came out. Unfortunately for the kid, the answer was no for the Midnight Premier, but they did however end up going to watch it and the whole family loved it!!
If you didn't realize it, that kid with no real childhood is me. And what makes Spider-Man 3 so special for me is that is was my first Superhero movie. More than that, it was my whole family's first superhero movie. It started me on the path of the Superhero fandom. 10 months after my family watched Spider-Man, we went to see Iron Man for my brother's birthday, and for some reason we decided to stay after the credits, and behold Samuel L. Jackson.
The way I see it, if it hadn't been for Spider-Man 3, I wouldn't have seen Iron Man when I did, and I might not be the Superhero fanatic I am now!! So I have a lot of sentimental value towards Spider-Man 3, even with the bad script
