8. Gacy (2003)

John Wayne Gacy was an American rapist and serial killer, also known as the Killer Clown. He was convicted of the sexual assault and murder of at least 33 boys that happened between 1972-1978 in Chicago. His victims were lured or inveigled to his home and he would strangle them.

7. Ted Bundy (2002)

Ted Bundy was an American serial killer, kidnapper, rapist, and necrophile who assaulted and killed scores of young American women and girls during the 1970s. Bundy denied killing anyone until a decade after his capture when he admitted to the killing of 30 women all across America. The true figure is thought to be higher.

6. Dahmer (2002)

Jeffery Dahmer was an American serial killer and sex offender. He murdered 17 men and boys between 1978-1991. His murders involved rape, dismemberment, necrophilia and cannibalism. In 1994, Dahmer was beaten to death by a fellow inmate in jail.

5. The Boston Strangler (1968)

The Bostom Strangler is a name given to a murderer of several women in Boston, Massachusetts in the early 1960s. They have been widely attributed to Albert DeSalvo due to a confession in another court case. However, parties investigating the case suggest the murders may have been carried out by two people.

4. 10 Rillington Place

John Christie was a notorious English serial killer who murdered at least 8 women (including his own wife) by strangling them at his flat- 10 Rillington Place, Notting Hill in London. When he moved out of the house in 1953, bodies where found in the house including his wife Ethel- under the floor boards. Christie was hanged after being convicted of his wife's murder.

3. Deranged

Ed Gein was an American murderer and body snatcher. He gained notoriety after authorities discovered that he had exhumed corpses from local graveyards and fashioned keepsakes out of skin and bone.

2. Aileen:Life and Death of a Serial Killer (2003)

Aileen Wournos killed 7 men in Florida between 1989-1990. She claimed the men were trying to rape her and she killed them in self defence. She was convicted, sentenced to death and executed by the state of Florida by lethal injection on October 9, 2002.

1. Badlands (1973)

Charles Starkweather was a teenage American killer who murdered 11 people during a 2 month time period with his 14 year old girlfriend Caril Ann Fugate in Wyoming and Nebraska. The couple were caught in January 1958. Fugate served 17 years and Starkweather was executed.
