Elsa and Anna having a Frozen Fever
Elsa and Anna having a Frozen Fever

Frozen, you’ve done it again, I can consider myself a huge fan of the 2013 Disney animated hit, Frozen, I haven’t seen anything that visually interesting or characters this likeable in a very long time. So of course I was one of the many people who kept watching it in the cinema and made it the fifth highest grossing film of all time.

Due to the film’s success, Walt Disney Animation Studios, the same company that brought us films like Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, and Big Hero 6 now brings us a sequel short film to Frozen in front of Disney’s live action Cinderella remake, Frozen Fever.

Some time after the events of Frozen we find the Snow Queen of Arendelle, Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel-Rent) throwing a surprise birthday party for her sister, Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell-Forgetting Sarah Marshall) with the help of Anna’s ice selling boyfriend, Kristoff (voiced by Jonathan Groff-Glee), his reindeer, Sven, and their warm-hearted, hugging talking snowman friend, Olaf (voiced by Josh Gad). However when Elsa wakes Anna up and wishes her a happy birthday, it turns out Elsa has a cold and she keeps sneezing little energetic snowmen called the Snowgies and they keep running around the courtyard where Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven are setting up for the party.

So apparently our little Snow Queen has two issues to deal with, finish decorating for the party and take care of the Snowgies, let’s hope she, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven manage to do something about it before their Just Desserts.

Overall, Frozen Fever is a sweet and humorous short featuring everyone’s favorite Frozen characters. Ever since I first saw Frozen in theaters, I was instantly attached to these characters, I love watching them and it was great to see them again before some more Disney magic that followed soon afterwards.

Despite my mixed thoughts, I’m very curious to see how Frozen 2 turns out, if Disney still keeps the characters the way they are, with the same voice actors, and all their likability, I’ll enjoy what’s coming next from the kingdom on ice that will certainly “Make Today A Perfect Day.”
