Studio Ghibli. Think about it. Who do you think about. I know what most people are thinking; Hayao Miyazaki. Since Hayao's retirement in late 2013, the company has produced two outstanding movies, 'When Marnie Was There' and 'The Tale of Princess Kaguya'. Since 2014, a lot of speculation has happened around how Studio Ghibli will cope without Miyazaki. So I thought we'd bring you an update on the company.

Recent Accomplishments

Hayao, at the peak of his career, produced award winning films such as Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro and Kiki's Delivery service, and more recently, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea and The Wind Rises. While all of these films were fantastic, will Studio Ghibli be able to upkeep this beautiful element of fantasia in all there works? The answer is yes. Well for now any way. 'When Marnie Was There' provided us with a beautiful storyline with stunning graphics and has recently acquired a score of 7.6 on IMDb. And as for 'The Tale of Princess Kaguya', the film has recently reached 8.1 on IMDb and furthermore, 100% on Rotten Tomatoes!

Where will Ghibli go next?

Who knows. Studio Ghibli is probably the most diverse company on Earth and so we really have know clue what could happen in the upcoming years for Studio Ghibli, and so I expect big things, as I think everyone should. However, we also have news of Hiromasa Yonebayashi, the youngest director of Studio Ghibli quitting, who produced 'Marnie' and wrote the script for Arrietty.

Also remember when Mr. Miyazaki said that the studios demise would be inevitable? Well Mr. Toshiko said that there is a possibility that Studio Ghibli will close within the next years. So, here is my question to you.
