Now with the upcoming Marvel movies coming out with titles such as Ant-Man, Avengers 2, Inhumans, Doctor Strange, The Infinity War Part 1 and 2, Captain America 3: Civil War, etc. I can't help desiring another good action packed and insightful Hulk movie and here are my reasons why....
1. Track Record
Other than the 2012 film [The Avengers](movie:9040) we haven't had the greatest line up of realistic or comic like Hulks. I'm obviously referring to the Hulk films of 2003 and 2008.
That said I did enjoy Louis Leterrier's take on the Hulk giving us a little bit better representation of him than the 2003 film.
But sadly they both fell short as expected due to the fact that they did not embrace the true essence of the Hulk. The Hulk that does not just start smashing when Banners is angry and is nothing but a mindless beast but a misunderstood individual who yearns to be left alone and understood as a being with feelings and a hero with anger issues.
The Hulk needs to be represented like, if not better than, Joss Whedon's Avengers Hulk, where he is actively shown as a hero and is shown to have good qualities along with superhuman strength.
2. Character Development
The Hulk currently at this time hasn't been developed that much on, we haven't really seen him display his common qualities like speech and intellect except for the one scene where he smashes Loki into the ground several times and says...
That is it. Just 2 words. When I went into the cinemas to see The Avengers, I was expecting a few more words than that somewhere along the lines of "HULK SMASH!!", "Leave me alone" or something more epic.
Plus I would like to see the more emotional side of Hulk, you know the one where he's kind to animals and likes them and how he loves nature. I would also like to see Hulk expressing his views for once, since this would be a great way to show his intelligence and show he ain't just some brute with green skin and no brain.
3. [Captain America: Civil War](movie:994409)
Okay so I put this on here for the reason that Hulk is an extremely great way to start Civil War off given the fact that in the MCU at this current time there are no New Warriors or many masked vigilantes either. Why is this important?
Well because Tony wants to create a registration system for superheroes so that their identities and services are known to the government. Of course that is a terrible idea given Hydra had its hands into all governments and S.H.I.E.L.D and still amasses a very large power and this is why Cap opposes the idea and wants superheroes to have freedom and secrecy. So how does Stark have so many allies and supporters in this?
Well prior to this a group of low level superheroes called the New Warriors took on a group of medium to high level supervillains and in the ensuing chaos there was a battle with one of the villains called Nitro and the New Warriors, Nitro exploded, seemingly killing the entire team and a huge number of civilians (including 60 school children nearby). This led to the the United States government to introduce a "Living Weapon of Mass Destruction" registry for all super-powered individuals. Most heroes were divided on the issue, and a Civil War ensued.
4. What does this have to do with Hulk?
Well given that the Civil War Comic storyline won't happen due to the fact that the characters aren't in the MCU and there aren't any New Warriors in the MCU either. So how could we combat this? Easy.
Whedon could use the Planet Hulk storyline, thus tying in Civil War, [Guardians of the Galaxy 2](movie:1081113) and a new possible Planet Hulk film that isn't an animation. This would be perfect considering (SPOILERS) Tony and the other members of the illuminati blast the Hulk into space as an attempt to get rid of him due to him being too dangerous. Cap would obviously oppose this idea and bring hell down on Tony and the other illuminati members for doing this.
5. Branch of movies
By doing this we could see a range of characters be introduced and the MCU be expanded upon further showing more of the universe and its inhabitants. Not only giving comic readers satisfaction but informing and teaching non-comic readers about the bio-diversity and multiple storylines that there is to follow.
