Welcome Gods, welcome Amazons to the 37th CRAVE article: The Wonder Woman Villains we CRAVE!
Now, I have been waiting for an entirety to do this post because Wonder Woman is my favorite superheroine of all time. She also has some of the best villains of all time in my personal opinion. And I'm really excited to see her finally come to the big screen on March 25, 2015 in Batman v. Superman and then in her own solo movie the following year.
But, for that solo movie...who do we want to be the villain? And as always, that is what we are here to discuss, who we CRAVE to take on the Amazon. It doesn't necessarily have to be an "exclusive" Wonder Woman villain, it could also be a Batman, Superman, etc. villain as well. And as always again, this is just for fun! This list is just my personal opinion and should not be taken so seriously!
So, lets put on our tiara, tie up our golden lasso, hop into our invisible jet and get started!
Barbara Ann Minerva, an archaeologist, was searching an Urzkartaga temple in Africa with her expedition. They searched for two months before finding it. A witch doctor was leading them, but little did they know they weren't led to a city, but into a trap. Minerva managed to escape with one of her team members. Together, they snuck into the city and saw the captured team members sacrificed. Minerva was only interested in relics and felt nothing for the people of her team. The tribe was trying to reawaken the Cheetah, but the chosen one was shot by a group of men who wanted to destroy the Cult of Vine. When Chuma was facing imminent death, Minerva saved his life, but they were trapped inside the Urzkartaga temple. She was told the story of the Cheetah and the plant god Urzkartaga. Hearing it, she wanted the long life the Urzkartaga offered his bride. The teammate who managed to escape with Minerva the first time was still alive and used explosives to help Barbara out of the temple. She took the opportunity to slay him, thus making him a needed sacrifice to the plant god. Chuma prepared the ritual and she was transformed into Cheetah. She promptly killed all the temple attackers and ate their flesh.
Why would we not have Wonder Woman's arch-enemy in her first solo movie? It seems silly not to include her in some way!
As many of you probably know, there are multiple versions of Cheetah. I chose the Minerva version of Cheetah just because I personally favor her more than the others and I'm pretty sure many fans agree with me on that. But, the Minerva version, would bring quite the challenge to Wonder Woman. She has super speed, strength, durability, agility, senses, claws, fighting, etc. With all those abilities going against Wonder Woman, that would make for some killer fighting scenes!
Giganta is Dr. Doris Zeul, who suffers from a fatal blood disease. She captures Wonder Woman and plans to put her "life-essence" into Wonder Woman's body using an experimental machine. Interrupted by Wonder Girl halfway through the experiment she ends up with her consciousness in a test animal gorilla named Giganta.
Desperate to return her mind to a human body, Zeul the gorilla abducts a comatose circus strongwoman named Olga with size-changing abilities through unknown means (though Olga was comatose due to a mysterious shaman) and uses the machine to successfully transfer her mind into that body, keeping the villain name "Giganta".
Speaking of awesome fight scenes again, look no further than Giganta to make some epic beat down scenes happen!
Giganta would make for a most interesting villain in the movie, bringing us something we have yet to see in a superhero movie: a female super villain who can grow to the size of a skyscraper and destroy everything. Now you can't tell me that you wouldn't want to see that awesomeness! Also, she can prove to be a real challenge just like Cheetah, pushing Wonder Woman to her very limit. And isn't a villain suppose to push the hero to their very limit? I think that's right and that's what Giganta would do (if the writers and director maker her that way though).
One of the three children of the supreme Greek Olympian Gods, Zeus and Hera, Ares is the God of War, loving battle for its own sake. Ares never favours one city or party over another, fighting on either side, as inclination prompts him, delighting in the slaughter of men and the sacking of towns. Despite being Zeus' son, Ares never fit in with the other gods of Olympus and created his own realm, the Areopagus. Ares is hated by all his fellow immortals, from Zeus and Hera downward, except for Eris, and Aphrodite, who nurses a perverse passion for him, ultimately bearing his children, Deimos, Phobos, and Harmonia.
Just look at this guy!
Once AGAIN talking about epic fight scenes, seeing Wonder Woman and the God of War totally kick the crap out of each other would make me throw money at the screen. Whether he would be in the first Wonder Woman or future sequels, Ares needs to be included into one of her movies. Also, it would be cool to see another really powerful villain introduced into the DCCU. More powerful villains means more chaos and everyone likes more chaos (in film at least).
Do you agree with my choices? Do you just despise my picks? Are you just excited for the first solo superheroine movie? Tell me in the comments below, take them polls and follow me for more incredible post! Thank you for reading!
