As a kid of the '90s, there were few greater pleasures than plopping down in front of the TV after a long day of school. After I outgrew the simple animated pleasures of Rugrats, I moved on to the slightly more grown up comedy stylings of Kenan & Kel.

Twenty years ago today, the first episode of Kenan& Kel aired on Nickelodeon. And from 1996 to 2000, we turned in to hear Coolio's voice saying "Aww, here it goes!" and watch as the comedy duo stepped out from behind that red curtain.

To indulge in a healthy dose of nostalgia and find out where the cast of Kenan & Kel are today, check this out:

Kenan Rockmore — Kenan Thompson

Notable Works Since: Good Burger, Fat Albert, Snakes on a Plane, Space Chimps, Saturday Night Live

Fun Fact: After Fred Armisen and Seth Meyers left the show, Thompson became SNL's most senior cast member. He is the longest-running African American cast member — appearing on the show for 11 seasons — and also holds the record for most celebrity impressions clocking in at 108, beating Darrell Hammond's 107.

Kel Kimble — Kel Mitchell

Notable Works Since: Good Burger, Cousin Skeeter, Clifford the Big Red Dog, The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, Mystery Men, Like Mike 2: Streetball

Fun Fact: In 2011 Mitchell co-wrote, produced, and starred in a martial arts comedy film titled Dance Fu, which was directed by Cedric the Entertainer. Mitchell played two roles in the film, Chicago Pulaski Jones and a villain named Pretty-Eyed Willy. No reports on whether or not Kel still loves orange soda.

Kyra Rockmore — Vanessa Baden

Notable Works Since: Rosewood, Magic City, and was the executive producer, writer, director, and stare of the show Fail.

Fun Fact: Baden graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Sociology in 2007. While a student, she won Florida District Miss Black and Gold Pageant representing the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.

Roger Rockmore — Ken Foree

Notable Works Since: The Devil's Rejects, Halloween (2007), D.C. Sniper, Water for Elephants, The Lords of Salem

Fun Fact: Starting in 2007, Foree had his own horror festival in the U.K. called "Foree Fest."

Sheryl Rockmore — Teal Marchande

Notable Works Since: Marchande has not acted professionally since Kenan & Kel ended in 2000.

Fun Fact: Marchande's husband, Ravin Caldwell, used to be a linebacker for the Washington Redskins. Together the couple has one daughter who played basketball at the University of California, Berkeley.

Chris Potter — Dan Frischman

Notable Works Since: Lessons for an Assassin, celebrity panelist on I Love the '80s 3-D

Fun Fact: Prior to becoming an actor, Frischman worked as a magician, working at birthday parties and other events in Los Angeles.

How was that for a blast from the past? What are some of your favorite memories from watching Nickelodeon's Kenan & Kel? Let me know in the comments section! I guess there's only one question left: Who loves orange soda?
