The Poster Posse is back with its second big crowd project of the year.
This time they are capturing the fury of everything that is Mad Max: Fury Road.
As usual for this highly creative group of movie fans/poster artists the project is being released in phases. This post includes all Phase 1 and Phase 2 art.
Both the first and second Mad Max films made a star of Mel Gibson. With the original director George Miller returning, Tom Hardy's (The Dark Knight Rises) new Max is sure to experience the same super nova fame explosion.
The series was known for its insane car stunts and chase scenes. If the Fury Road trailer is to be believed, this reboot promises to top even those.
As can be expected, the posters are also filled with cars and explosions. My personal favorites: Andy Fairhurst's typical aerial view of cars with their dust exhaust spelling out "Mad Max"; Salvador Anguiano's fractured and battered collage of dust, roads, mountains and protagonists and antagonists; and Simon Delart's patented triangle composition that has Tom Hardy barfing out a "doom buggy."
The explosions by Ben Mcleod, the Max stylings by Berkay Daglar, the fast and furious auto rumblings of Johnny Dombrowski, the Apocalyptic musings and partial Bane tribute of Kaz Oomori, and the atypical typical redo of a famous shot from the second original (Road Warrior) from Matt Needle round out the first phase contributions.
Mad Max: Fury Road opens everywhere May 15th.
