Hello MoviePilot!

Ever wondered what it would be like if our Avengers would continue Avenging the world well into their 5th and 6th decades of life? No? Huh... I didn’t expect that answer…

Well I have! And I have decided who the new actors that could play our alien punching, robot smashing badasses should they continue the previously mentioned alien punching and robot smashing badassery well into a seasoned age! All actors are above 50 years of age, and for the sake of article length I will only be recasting the Avengers from the first movie, being Cap/Iron Man/Thor/Hulk/Black Widow and Hawkeye. I omitted Nick Fury because yes he’s awesome but Samuel L. Jackson is already 66, man. Besides he’s not actually an Avenger. Enough yapping, here’s the list!

Captain America/Steve Rogers: Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt is awesome, he’s a diverse actor who has that All-American feel to him. With roles like Lt. Aldo Raine and Staff Sergeant Don “Wardaddy” Collier in Inglorious Bastards and Fury respectively, I think it’s safe to say that Pitt isn’t a stranger to World War II characters. With his incredible talent, and experience (and let’s not forget his good looks!), he could definitely bring a 50-something year-old version of our Cap to life.

Iron Man/Tony Stark: Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan is suave and cool like no other actor I can think of. Obviously you have to be when you are James Bond! But this time he’s the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist that we all know and love, Tony Stark aka Iron Man! Another talented actor, now 61 years old and still looking fresh as ever. He’s no stranger to action movies, and he can also deliver those funny one liners the exact way that our current Tony (Robert Downey Jr.) delivers them. He's got that been-there-done-that look that admittedly most of my choices have, but with Tony being a former P.O.W. and the sheer amount of crap that he has gone through as a character, I think it would definitely shine through Brosnan’s performance of an older Tony Stark, I’m sure of it!

Thor: Liam Neeson

Liam Neeson makes perfect sense for an older, wiser Thor. A Thor who has lived through trials and faced threats that the other Avengers just would never be able to (The Asgard Apocalypse, Ragnarok, for example). Neeson has already played a God as Zeus in Clash of the Titans which I thought was a great casting choice. He’s 62 years old and still kicking out action movie after action movie of him just kicking all of the ass. Now put Mjolnir in his hands and let the magic happen! I for one want to hear a Taken Phone Threat in an Asgardian accent.

Hulk/Bruce Banner: Gary Oldman

Gary Oldman is one of those actors that just OWNS every role he is given. He makes every movie that he is in better just by being in it, and is definitely one of my very favorite actors. He’s very diverse, playing an awesome villain as well as a lovable hero, which is perfect for the Hulk. Oldman could really show the duality of the character, not to mention he has the look of an older, experienced Bruce Banner and I think would bring the character to life in a way we haven’t seen before!

Black Widow/Natalia Romanov: Michelle Pfeiffer

Maybe I lost some of you with this one, but hear me out! Michelle Pfeiffer played Catwoman back in 1992 in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, she was awesome and still remains to this day the most memorable thing about the whole movie for me. She did not do very much acting in the 2000’s in order to focus on raising her kids, but now they are all off in college and she’s picking it back up. She is an awesome actress, having been nominated for an Oscar 3 times, but what really sold me on her for Black Widow was back in 2013 when she was interviewing about her movie “The Family” that she starred in alongside Robert DeNiro. She said that she "really wants to do an action movie" and she "wants to be a badass like Jack Bauer from 24." She has the drive! She wants it! And -that- in many ways is more important than anything else. The fact that she's still smoking hot at the age of 56 and is a talented actress are just bonuses!

Hawkeye/Clint Barton: Viggo Mortensen

Viggo Mortensen, man! Another great actor, best known for his work as Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings (LOTR) series. I always thought he looked badass when he had his bow in LOTR, I would love to see him kicking ass on screen again and looking great as usual. He looks like Hawkeye, he has proven himself as an actor, and frankly I need more Viggo in my life. I think he’s perfect for an older Hawkeye! Mortensen looks natural with a bow, he’s been nominated for an Oscar and even the roles he wasn’t nominated for he did an amazing job in. He needs to be given more credit and I would love to see him as Barton.

So there's my list! I think this is my dream movie. Love it or hate it, The Seasoned Avengers needs to happen! Who's with me?
