South African director Neill Blomkamp made the movie 'Chappie' after his sci-fi in 2009,'District 9',but I think there's some points missing to make Chappie Chappier,or you can say, more erffective, whatever.
Short plot:In the near future, crime is patrolled by an oppressive mechanized police force. But now, the people are fighting back. When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. As powerful, destructive forces start to see Chappie as a danger to mankind and order, they will stop at nothing to maintain the status and ensure that Chappie is the last of his kind.
1.The absence of satirical and political resonance of District 9.
2.The absence of the critical questions in District 9.
3.It doesn't really make people feel effective, like in District 9,even Neill Blomkamp use that documentary-style beginning.
4.The absence of the philosophical grounding.
Without these points, the feel and enjoyment,we lose the string, and the film doesn't have the weight to pull it through.
