A few days ago, I happened to stumble upon this hilarious Reddit thread in which people were revealing the most embarrassing thing they had learned at a late age. There were some absolute gems:

Bryanprz91 wrote,

"Absolutely hated skim milk as a kid. This is because I thought it was pronounced "skin milk" and assumed pieces of skin and other particles floated in the milk."

I was 23 on a trip with my girlfriend in San Francisco. We were both getting ready for the day in the bathroom and I needed my hair gel, so I asked if she could hand me my toilet treat bag. She seemed confused, I again asked, "Can you please hand me my bag of toilet treats!?" She ran out of the bathroom laughing. I thought toiletries was toilet treats.

Anyway, there I was laughing my head off before somebody said "I only found out the other day that I'd been getting the "mirror on the wall" quote from Snow White wrong my whole life." Huh, I thought. What does she mean? So I looked it up. Yep, I'd also been getting it wrong the whole time. Not only that, it turned out I'd been getting a whole bunch of movie quotes wrong.

So, before you get on your high horse of movie knowledge superiority I've devised a little quiz below. Can you correctly guess these often misquoted famous movie quotes?

“… Ah, Houston, we’ve had a problem.”

4. The Silence of the Lambs

When the monster arises, Dr. Henry Frankenstein says?

“It’s Alive!”

7. The Empire Strikes Back

The immortal line from 'The Empire Strikes Back,' what is it?

“No. I am your father.”

8. The Graduate

As Mrs. Robinson turns on the charm, Benjamin Braddock says?

“Mrs. Robinson, you’re trying to seduce me. Aren’t you?”

9. Field of Dreams

“If you build it, he will come.”

10. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

How did you do?
