Hey PLL Army //
Did you watch last nights episode? We've gone through so much to get to this point, and now we are one week away from finding out a huge hint that will lead us to -A. Marlene King is dropping huge hints as we lead up to the big moment, and most of these hints are pointing to Aria. We don't know for sure if Aria is -A, but as we watch back on every episode from the pilot, we are slowly watching Aria unravel, and we've spotted evidence; a lot of evidence. Maybe Aria isn't -A, but there is something that she may be hiding. Is she helping -A? Did she kill Mona? We don't know all the answers, but we have a lot of clues, and big time evidence that is pointing to a little liar whose name starts with 'A'. It is a compelling theory. Not only because it is supported by so many clues, but also because of the ultimate betrayal against her best friends. Let's hash out some of the evidence we have found to support this theory.
The Opening: The song is an interesting choice, but what is also interesting is at the very end when they show the four liars, Aria is looking guilty. At first, they all seem to be looking at Hanna, and then for a split second Emily and Hanna take a glance at Aria. She does look the most guilty. Also, rumor has it that while shooting the opening, all four of the girls took turn practicing the 'shh!' at the very end, and Lucy Hale's was the best one out of all of them. But, we seem to think that this is just a cover up and could be a huge clue.
- Mona and Aria: Haven't you ever wondered about their relationship? In earlier episodes, Mona seems to be afraid of Aria.
Mona has always seemed to be intimidated by Aria, but it's shown in this scene in particular. Before the bathroom scene, Mona had decided to join the Montgomery family in the theater to watch an old fashioned movie. It appears that Aria was not to happy about this. According to KillerAriaisA on tumblr, they show us a clip from the screen where a girl is being strangled. At this very moment, Aria whispers something in Mona's ear. Most believe this could have been a threat with other hurtful things attached to it. After this, we see Mona in the bathroom crying. It appears that whatever Aria had whispered to her had really shaken her up.
This scene in general was revealing, and we believe important. Alison obviously underestimated Aria for whatever it is she capable of. It seems that maybe a lot of people are underestimating her. Even her best friends. Aria isn't afraid to use information to hurt someone, and she isn't afraid to threaten Mona. In 3x22 we see Aria threatening Mona, " If Spencer doesn’t get better and doesn’t get out of Radley you’re gonna wish you broke your neck when you fell of that cliff!" These threats continue as the series go on, which leads us to believe that there is something going on between Mona and Aria that we don't know yet.
Also, while Aria visited Mona in Radley, Mona asked a very interesting question.
As she asks this question, if you look closely, you can see that the Ace's are pointing to Aria.
Was this Mona inviting Aria to play the -A game? After this, it cuts to another scene where Mona begins to explain 'the game'.
Mona: “You need a good foundation. You start with a good foundation and you can build anything.”
Is this a clue that Mona was passing on the -A game to Aria?
We can't forget this scene is 2x02. Most fans believed this to be Mona befriending Aria, but Marlene King claimed it to mean something more.
Nothing is an accident in Rosewood.
- Helping Hanna?
In this episode, Aria does tell Hanna's mom that she is -A. We know it was to help Hanna, but Marlene did say that there was a big clue in this episode. Was this the clue?
- Doesn't Aria Ever Get Attacked by -A?
Hardly. She hardly gets life altering, or dangerous threats from -A. Of course Aria has been attacked here and there, but not as much as her friends have. In fact, -A saved her and Ezra's relationship. Whenever something bad happens to Aria (Shana for instance) -A never seems to bring it up. We wonder why that could be.
- Aria is reluctant to contact Varjak
Varjak isn't easy to reach, so Spencer decides to text from a burner phone in which this happens:
Emily: Holly Golightly, or Holly Varjak? Aria replies:
After this scene comes another one where Varjack calls Aria. It seems that when Varjak is your only hope to help get your friends get out of jail you would jump to the opportunity. But in this case, Aria doesn't. In fact, she's rather hesitant to do so.
Sure about that Aria? You seem scared.
Thank God Caleb loses his patience and grabs the phone from Aria putting an end to this nonsense.
Aria, you look nervous.
All of these clues are weird, right? We haven't even covered half of them, but it does seem that there is more to Aria than meets the eye. She's hiding a secret that hasn't come out yet, she's -A, or she has some kind of mental disorder, which could tie all the loose ends together. Either way, we still don't know much about Aria, besides her relationship with Ezra. Let's hope these clues lead to something huge, even a clue that could lead to Aria being big -A.
