Have you ever wanted to watch the mini versions of your favorite Marvel Superheroes and Villains on the big screen? If you do like I do, it would be so precious isn't it? Or perhaps you just don't, thinking that it is utterly absurd but this article will show you that children can be superheroes and villains too!
Generally, children casting can be a nightmare but for me, it's loads of fun! Not kidding, I love to observe and interact with all the talented and adorable children but for The Avengers: Children, I can only look at their photos. :'(
Nonetheless, it is still interesting to do this and I hope you love them. It took me a while to scout them (they can't be toddler yet have to be as young as possible with the right profile) and of course, I think they are perfect!!
Let me share with you why and let the fan-casting begin!!
10. Sebastian Banes, 8, as Quicksilver.
Profile: Sebastian Banes is a child actor who is known for the critically acclaimed indie drama film In the Family (2011), in which he has starred and won the Best Performance in a Feature Film for Supporting Young Actor Ten and Under at the 34th Young Artist Awards in 2013.
Why him? Minus the beard, wear the blue costume and probably a lighter blonde hairwig if the parents does not consent hair bleaching, Sebastian Banes would be the perfect Quicksilver! Like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Banes started as a child actor and both aren't biologically platinum blonde, too. With his many experience in acting from shorts to film and TV, I am sure he can pull it off!
9. Caitlin Carmichael, 10, as Scarlet Witch.
Profile: Caitlin Carmichael is an award-winning child actress that has appeared in various TV series and films such as True Blood, Bag of Bones, Doc McStuffins, Chosen, The Wicked and 300: Rise of an Empire. Her interests aside from acting includes dancing, gymnastics and helping to feed the homeless.
Why her: If any child could take Scarlet Witch's complex role, it is certainly Caitlin Carmichael. She really can act. Like the character, she is both sweet and caring in reality. Most of all, Carmichael has the looks and talents!
8. Zander Faden, age 7 to 11, as Loki.
Profile: Zander Faden is a rising child star who is known for his work on Dirty Laundry (2014) and Transparent (2014). He has mentioned on his social profile that family and friends are the most important and he love to act, dance and cook. What's more interesting is that Faden is the Winter Soldier in the Marvel-Chevrolet Commercial in 2014!
Why him: Oh my gosh. You don't even need mind-reading ability to read my mind on why Zander Faden is the perfect mini Loki! Not only he resembles Tom Hiddleston a lot, he has also appeared in the Marvel-Chevrolet Commercial! Such companies have high standards, if he does not have what it takes, he wouldn't even be a part of it even if he has great looks isn't it? If you have seen the video on top of this post; you will notice that this young man has his own unique charms! He truly can take over the world, if he wants.
7. Terrell Ransom, Jr., 11, Nick Fury.
Profile: Terrell Ransom, Jr. is a child actor, model and musician. He is mostly known for his role as Theo on Days of Our Lives and the voice of Darwin on The Amazing World of Gumball. He is a strong advocate of Autism awareness.
Why him: Who could have been better than the multi-talented Terrell Random, Jr. in leading S.H.I.E.L.D and bringing together all The Avengers: Children? The only issue here is that he might have to shave his hair bald to look a little like Nick Fury but hey, it's the children version. Maybe the mini leader can keep the hair and wearing a black eye-patch would do!
6. Jake Vaughn, 9, as Hawkeye.
Profile: Jake Vaughn is a child actor and a self-proclaimed Lego expert. He has appeared in a number of productions including Medeas (2013), Petals on the Wind (2014) and an episode of Glee as Mini Finn. Some fun facts, he is the print model for Stride Rite X-CeleRacers Marvel Spider-Man Sneaker and his younger sister Jenna Vaughn played the Baby Spock in Star Trek (2009)!
Why him: Jake Vaughn looks like Jeremy Renner, don't you think so? Not much is known about his personal life but he seems to be a confident and optimistic person like Hawkeye! His social profile mentions that he is a great kid (which I believe it's true) and an expert at Lego which is amazing! If he takes archery classes even just for a while, I am sure he will be the perfect mini Hawkeye!
5. Cameron M. Brown, 11, as Captain America.
Profile: Cameron M. Brown is an upcoming actor who aspires to be a director. A gifted child in both in academics and performing arts, he is mostly known for his role as Willie Lincoln in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012) which he was nominated for a Young Artist Award. His personal interests include hockey, baseball, learning, geography, music and movies!
Why him: Although Cameron M. Brown is young, he is very hardworking and devoted to what he wanted to do in life and what he wanted to be in the future. Who else could be the greatest Marvel superhero unless he is someone who is shooting for the stars and will not stop until he has reached his goals, like Cameron M. Brown? After all, Captain America is legendary!
4. Max Charles, 11, as Hulk.
Profile: Max Charles is a child actor who is already considered an industry veteran as he has many coveted roles to his name and has worked with some of Hollywood's most respected and acclaimed actors, writers and directors. He is mostly known for his main role in The Neighbors (in which he won the Young Artist Award for Outstanding Young Ensemble in a TV Series in 2013), the young Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man films, the voice of Spin in Lab Rats and Sherman in Dreamworks' Mr. Peabody & Sherman.
Why him: The Hulk is easily one of the most loved superhero in the Marvel Universe but it is not easy to be him as the character itself is complicated. It requires a professional actor like Max Charles, who has been consistent if not ever-improving in his performances. Therefore, I think Charles is the perfect mini-Hulk especially when they are done with the image-making!
3. Kingston Rossdale, 9, as Thor.
Profile: Kingston Rossdale is the eldest son of Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani. Not much is known about his personal life or interests as there is virtually no biography on him available to public.
Why him: Scouting for mini Thor is literally painful. It's not just about wearing the Thor costume and holding the Mjölnir. But that pain ended as soon as I saw this photo of Kingston Rossdale because he could be the perfect mini Thor we ever wanted! If only he is given the opportunity, is interested with acting and his parents allows him to venture into this industry!
2. Alyvia Alyn Lind, 7, as Black Widow.
Profile: Alyvia Alyn Lind is a child actress known for her work Blended (2014), Dark Skies (2013) and The Young and the Restless TV show. The daughter of John Lind and Barbara Alyn Woods, her two older sisters Natalie Alyn Lind and Emily Alyn Lind are also actresses. She will be playing Elvis Presley's daughter, Lisa Marie Presley in the upcoming movie Shangri-La Suite (2015).
Why her: I know Alyvia Alyn Lind isn't red-haired but that is not an issue because it can be fixed. What's more important is that she is naturally beautiful and intelligent just like Scarlett Johansson and the super heroine, Black Widow! She will be our super sweet mini Black Widow, don't you agree?
1. Pierce Gagnon, 9, as Iron Man.
Profile: Last but not the least, Pierce Gagnon is a child actor who aspires to be a director when he grows up. He is known for his work in One Tree Hill, Extant, Wish I Was Here and the voice of Tiago in Rio 2.
Why him: I think Pierce Gagnon's mother might not be amused (read "My parents review and approve all tweets prior to my 18th birthday") if anyone says her son looks like a playboy but it could be a compliment if we say he could possibly cast as the children version of the complicated yet successful billionaire playboy genius Tony Stark portrayed by RDJ (on screen) who also started out as a child actor, right? I have seen Gagnon's behind the scene videos, he is truly impressive and has great attitude so I honestly think he can pull it off. With his talents, I am sure he can be our handsome mini Iron Man!
That's all for The Avengers: Recast as Children!
Which is your favorite?!
I think Marvel Studios would be so proud of me if I am their casting assistant! This is the end of the post and I truly hope you enjoyed reading this!
