Omg this was a surprising trailer. I think it's safe to say the less you know about a project the better. Well in most cases it's true. I didn't know what this was & I didn't think I'd care for it until I watched the trailer. I like how it starts out as america going to war with a very dramatic montage with no knowledge of our invaders. Then it jumps into a fun modern nostalgic adventure. As we find out the aliens misinterpret video feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war. Planet Earth gets attacked in the form of video games. Now when I saw the reveal of 1980s video game characters I got extremely excited. The cast looks cool and I have to say it's been awhile since I got excited to see an Adam Sandler movie. I'm glad he's in this because I really want to see it but not because of him lol. Then again this could be his comeback. I love this concept of video games merging into the real world now that were in a society of virtual technology. It feels like Fanboys meets Tron meets Star Wars and Space Invaders. This could be set in the future or a story taking place in the 1980s predicting the future. I want to know what it will be like in IMAX 3D. Another thing that makes this exciting is the director is Chris Columbus who's made some great films of the 80s and 90s. This feels like a project he would've made 30 yrs ago. If you don't know who he is then go watch Adventures in Babysitting, Home Alone, Home Alone 2, Mrs. Doubtfire, Nine Months, Bicentennial Man, and Stepmom. Anyway this trailer really grabbed my attention and it makes Video Games a film genre officially so that's cool. Everyone loves hybrid adventures of new ideas.
