Thoughts by Roninjoegenji:

Finally the CW has brought the beloved comic series to the small screen and this is a story that is new to me. I like that this beginning of a cool concept has gotten me interested in reading the comics. This show is based on a comic series from Vertigo Comics created by Chris Roberson & Michael Allred. Right off the back I'm going to say I absolutely loved the beginning of this awesome concept wrapped around the things I love. Mystery, horror, comedy, suspense, zombies an drama. I was also intrigued by Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars) being involved with this project because I enjoy his work too. He does great directing with this pilot. So the story is about a medical student accepting that being a zombie has it's positives. Those undead skills are used to assist the police. Medical Student Liv Moore (Rose Mclver) who becomes a zombie joins a Coroner's office to gain access to brains she must compulsively eat. It helps maintain her humanity. In every brain that is eaten also enhances her memories. Wait say that out loud again that is freaking awesome!!! Liv has 2 lives one is trying to be normal and the other is being a super zombie. The main characters are kind of like her sidekicks lmao even though they play big parts. The 2 characters are the medical examiner Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli) and Police Detective Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin). I love the idea of the people around Liv are ok with the fact that she is a brain dead chick with heart & soul. I love the zombie Veronica Mars attitude this show has. I love the old school references to classic zombie films from cinema history (George A Romero). The writing is truly clever & unique and I was laughing out loud at how amazed i was that the CW actually pulled this off. There is truly something here for the male an female demographics. Honestly I went in blind knowing nothing an I feel great about it. The truth is when you know little to much of something you naturally become hesitant or skeptical to stay away without giving something new a shot. I miss being surprised about a project and this was a real surprise and I'm happy about it, because I loved it. Now this pilot has made me want to go and purchase the comics as well as continue on watching the series. Well played CW because this absolutely kicked ass. This is a brilliantly played concept that plays out like a weekly Shaun of the Dead. The chemistry between the 3 main characters very cool. This is the first zombiemystery, zombiethriller an zombiecomedy with a heroic dead girl, and for that I have to keep tuning in :-) my mind is blown!
