Kim possible is one of the shows from Disney channel's golden age of animation and was probably one of the best shows of the early 2000's but it eventually met its end in 2007.Right now Disney struggles to come up with quality shows which are usually poorly constructed live action sitcoms with overused cliches. Disney's course of action right now regarding movies is to remake its animated Disney classics as live action films so why not make a series of live action films for Kim possible? The spy thriller genre is huge with mainstream successes like Kingsman: The secret service and the James bond films. Kim possible could once again be brought back in a new format and be reintroduced to a new generation of movie goers as a successful teen-spy thriller that will surely turn heads. I personally think this could work but there would have to be a lot of commitment and willingness to keep the elements that worked in cartoon and remove the ones that didn't.
This could be a chance for Disney to try something new and get on the fast track to creating a successful teen spy franchise and maybe even bring back the animated cartoon or simply inspire someone at Disney to make a spin-off show focusing on one of Kim's descendants but that's more of a personal wish I keep to myself for the most part. There is enough raw acting talent out there to make a film like this while still honoring the cartoon and pleasing the general audience because 1% is more important( sorry it's true, but it's also sad).
We know that spy films have done very well in theaters such as everyone's favorite British MI6 agent. To make it to theaters, Kim possible would have to make itself believable while maintaining a sense of fun and adventure that the cartoon displayed. Kim possible has the possibility to be just as good as James bond if not better. The Kim possible cartoon had cool and complex gadgets, tech experts, evil masterminds, bumbling sidekicks, lethal henchman, secret hideouts, fancy communicators and etc. Kim possible could be in a position to be bigger than James bond if executed well in film.
Kyle Newman's new action comedy "Barely lethal" hit the web with a trailer some time ago and if you watch it you can't help but feel that it is some kind of variation of Kim possible. The film itself might not do well but simply reinforces how well a Kim possible live action movie could do if the right team and creative minds are behind the project. Barely lethal deals with many of the same things Kim possible deals with but I personally thought that Kim possible did a better job handling teen angst, drama, and action.
well, if this doesn't prove that it could be done then I don't know what does.
well, I think this speaks for itself.
