Looks like it's official, Infinite Earths fans! Cpl. Dwayne Hicks will be returning in Neill Blomkamp's Aliens sequel!
Actor Michael Biehn confirmed his involvement in the project, which fans speculated, and hoped, would happen after Neill Blomkamp showed off some concept art earlier this year, via Instagram:
“It’s official, I will be reprising my role as ‘Cpl.’ (Not for long …) Dwayne Hicks,” Biehn wrote in a newly discovered Instagram post. “With the go ahead, Hicks will return with Ripley in Mid 2017. Perhaps Hicks and Ripley well eventually get to second base in this one …”
Biehn starred as Dwayne Hicks in James Cameron's 1986 film Aliens. He survived the film along with Ripley, Newt and Bishop, but was killed off at the beginning of 1992's Alien 3, a move that angered many a fan when it unfolded on screen.
According to Empire, the actor has previously hinted that he will be unable to attend the upcoming Sheffield Comic-Con in August because of his commitment to the movie.
This is very exciting indeed! Are you all excited to see Cpl. Hicks rejoining Ripley to kick some Xeno butt once again? We sure are!
Until next time, Infinite Earths fans!
