As if she weren’t busy enough turning situation comedy on its ear with the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, she has three film roles in the works.
First, there is an untitled film in the works, according to Fey’s IMDB page, is a “supernatural comedy” set for 2016. It will be produced by Walt Disney Productions.
There has been some debate that the untitled film is to be a Hocus Pocus sequel but, according to Owen Williams of The Wrap, that is not the case. Think more along the lines of Ghostbusters with ladies.
She is currently filming Paramount Pictures “Fun House” in New Mexico.
According to The Wrap, it is a comedy about a journalist’s war reporting exploits in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Based on the Taliban Shuffle a memoir by correspondent Kim Barker, the production also stars Margot Robbie, Billy Bob Thornton and Alfred Molina.
Fun House will be released next year.
Fans of Fey’s acting will next be able to see her during the Christmas 2015 movie season in Sisters. As Empire.com reports, Sisters is the comedic tale of two adult female siblings who are stunned to learn that their parents are selling the family home to downsize their retirement.
To bid the family home adieu, they decide to throw a farewell bash.
In addition to Fey, Sisters also stars Fey’s BFF, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, John Leguizamo, James Brolin and pro wrestler (the correct handle is WWE Superstar-but- I digress) John Cena.
Technically, Fey’s most recently available acting gig can be viewed in the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt where she turned in a hilarious cameo performance as a parody of infamous attorney Marcia Clark.
