It seems like only yesterday that fans were treated to two new minutes of Avengers 2: Age of Ultron footage to pick apart and obsess over while we wait during these painful last weeks before the movie's release.
Okay, it was two whole weeks ago, but the benevolent overlords at Marvel Studios have deemed us all worthy of some new, ever so brief images and moments to savor in the form of a second TV spot. And while it isn't a full two minutes of new Avengers 2 footage, there is indeed some nice bits to admire.
First off, hello Agent Maria Hill!
We get a nice re-introduction to Cobie Smulders' Agent Maria Hill. I'm hoping there might be a chance we can catch up will Agent Hill at some point during the final 8 episodes of Marvel's Agents of SHEILD to get a better idea of what she's been up to. But we do get a little backstory to Tony Stark in this moment as he tells us how he's been bankrolling [The Avengers](movie:9040) and making sure they look cool.
That seems to involve some upgrades in Hawkeyes arsenal of weapons and giving Captain America's shield some cool electromagnetic capabilities.
And we get to watch him throw a motorcycle at a jeep. Yes, that's right. Captain America throws a motorcycle at a jeep, and destroys said jeep.
Yes, it is awesome - even if Cap makes it seem like the whole thing was one of those "I meant to do that" moments.
Also, we get to see Nick Fury is full badass mode. The last look we had was more of the hiding out on the farm variety of Nick Fury. In this clip Fury looks like he's ready to take care of business.
We get to see some more [Black Widow](movie:1070824) and Bruce Banner flirting - this time with Black Widow calling the Hulked-out Banner "Big Guy". Awww... these two are adorable.
Perhaps the coolest moment of the trailer - yes, cooler than Cap throwing a bike at a car - is Thor playing baseball with Captain America's shield.
Seeing Cap's shield take flight and tear through a series of Ultron robots is indeed a thing of beauty. There's no denying that Joss Whedon has a special talent for realizing those crazy things fans want to see on a big screen and delivering on it.
There's a nice little hint at the progression of Scarlet Witch's character as Hawkeye gives her a little pep-talk saying, "If you step out that door, you're an Avenger." From enemy to ally. Well done, Hawkeye!
And we also get a bit of some trademark cocky Quicksilver attitude. It's also marks the debut of the Russian Quicksilver accent that Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be sporting in Avengers 2. He really doesn't get to use his normal English accent very often, does he?
The shot of Quicksilver looks like it is from that opening scene where the Avengers are storming Baron von Strucker's compound in the snow. It backs up some rumors that the Avengers will indeed run into Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch early on and maybe get a taste of what they are capable off.
What do you think? Sound off in the comments below.
These trailers are definitely casting a spell on me. Not that I needed much encouragement but there hasn't really been a dud of a trailer or teaser for Avengers 2 yet. Keep them coming, oh mighty and beloved [Marvel](channel:932254) overlords! We are worthy, we are worthy!
