The Avengers have been cast, and with unparalleled success have launched the Marvel franchise to super-stardom. Robert Downey Jr.'s mischievous socialite Iron Man, Chris Evans' stoic and endearing Captain America, and Mark Ruffalo's quiet and intelligent Bruce Banner have won over skeptics in their fantastic cinematic adventures. But what if they had never been cast as such? With the up-and-coming Age of Ultron less than two months away, what's a better way to celebrate than casting the Avengers that never were?
Iron Man - Shia LaBeouf
Shia LaBeouf, now older than his other characters in Indiana Jones and Transformers, exudes the Tony Stark charm and the socialite atmosphere. His age would affect the role Tony plays in the movies, as more of a
Captain America - Armie Hammer
Stoic and imposing, Armie Hammer would be a fantastic complement to Karl Urban's Stark, and would be a great portrayal of an awkward goliath thrown into the future.
Thor - Russell Brand
I'll be honest, Russell Brand's Thor would be very, very different from Chris Hemsworth's portrayal. However, his portayal of a wayward son gaining respect rather than a princely Viking commandeering respect ever since his first adventure would be interesting next to Hammer's and Urban's roles.
Hulk - Jeff Goldblum
Jeff Goldblum is many years the elder of the previous actors. However, having played intellectual and fairly reserved characters in the past, his performance would very much parallel that of Mark Ruffalo's, and could very well be the missing element from my cast so far.
Black Widow - Winona Ryder
An experienced actor from such classics as Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands, Winona Ryder has the silent charm and look to put a twist on the character of Black Widow.
Hawkeye - Daniel Craig
With a silent and calculating persona onscreen, Daniel Craig may have to drop the British accent for the role (or maybe not)
Scarlet Witch - Miranda Otto
Strong and independent in the role of Eowyn, Otto would be perfect as a mad yet silent complement to a fast-paced, accented, and witty Quicksilver, played by Dominic Monaghan.
