Though it was one of the lowest grossing Oscar nominees of all time, Whiplash is far from a failure. Unlike some of the more forgettable blockbusters, Whiplash has become a cult hit that has been gaining more and more attention in the DVD market. This is mainly due to J.K. Simmons' award-winning performance as Fletcher, the caustic conductor who pushes his students' limits with verbal abuse.

J.K. Simmons is also known by fans of The Legend of Korra as playing Tenzin, son of Aang from the preceding series Avatar: The Last Airbender. Tenzin, for the most part is not nearly as hot-tempered as Fletcher. However, one YouTube user recently combined the two characters in a video that's nothing short of hilarious.

WARNING: THE VIDEO BELOW CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE.

In the video entitled: The Legend of Whiplash, YouTube user Aninounette AR dubs Fletcher's lines from Whiplash over Tenzin's dialogue. However, it isn't just a simple switching of the audio. Instead, Aninounette AR edits the clips so that Tenzin's mouth pretty much syncs up with the NSFW dialogue. Considering that both characters are played by the same actor, the video is naturally funnier as a result.

The video, which was published on YouTube six days ago, has recently been shared on reddit, and has already amassed over 10,000 views. It's pretty clear to see why the video's gaining popularity: the comments section is filled with enthusiastic YouTubers voicing their approval of the humor:

That's it. I'm done for today. Day was made.
Considering that I just got done watching Whiplash for the second time, this is hysterical.
I love you so much! I knew someone would do this but I have not the skill required to do something like this. Thank you so much for making this!

Aninounette AR has uploaded several other Avatar fan videos as well, including one that dubs Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty" song over a scene from the Last Airbender episode: "The Headband" to make it look like Aang is playing the famous saxaphone hook.
