As New York Daily News reports, a new TMNT movie, the sequel to Michael Bay's movie adaptation of the popular children's cartoon series, that was released last year, is in works, and will be filmed in New York and Buffalo.
As Council Member, Dan Garodnick, reports,
There is no better way to project the character of this city than through television and film. And what’s more New York than pizza-loving ninjas and a talking rat?
Pretty much all the people that have previously worked on 2014's TMNT movie will return to work on the sequel, and those include Michael Bay's 'Platinum Dunes' company, together with Brad Fuller and Andrew Form who will all be working on the sequel's production, and Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec will be the returning screenwriters.
It is not clear whether Megan Fox will reprise her role of April O'Neil, nor whether William Fichtner will return as Eric Sacks, but it is to be expected that this will eventually be announced. Note that the original movie's cast included actors like Will Arnett, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Danny Woodburn, Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub and that the movie grossed the astounding $ 485 million at the box office worldwide.
What is known is that the movie will be directed by David Green, who previously directed 'Earth to Echo' and that, unless they delay it for some reason, the movie is scheduled to be released on June 3, 2016.
