PS4 exclusive gameplay footage has been released showcasing just how brilliant Batman: Arkham Knight will look on the PS4!
Available on both next gen consoles, [Batman: Arkham Knight](tag:2683936) is set to break more than a few records when it is eventually released later this year. But this footage released by Warner Bros. just minutes ago is direct gameplay from the Sony PS4.
It looks delicious:
This is footage taken from the first chapter of Batman: Arkham Knight. It show us again how Batman can beat the living snot out of multiple bad guy types whilst still looking cinematically brilliant.
As you can see in the video above, changes to the combat system include the ability to combine attacks on both standing and prone enemies without interrupting the streak. Batman can also counter enemy attacks, and throw them into other enemies for increased damage.
Typical enemies are now capable of performing a charge and tackle attack only used by larger enemies in previous games; precision timed dodging and a batarang can instantly defeat some charging enemies. Special combo attacks warrant brutal slow-mo finishes and arm snapping great cinematics.
Did you get a sense at the end of that gameplay trailer that something was a little sinister? Evidence of those darker themes that we reported on last month seems very clear during the end of that interrogation scene.
Rocksteady are aiming to have a resolution and frame rate that is as close to identical as they can manage across both consoles. When asked how this will actually pan out Rocksteady stated
"We don't know yet," a Rocksteady developer said. "We're about six months away from going gold. So we don't know what the resolution and the frame rate's going to be yet. That's something that happens during the optimization phase of the game. We're aiming for parity across all platforms. Whatever it is, it's going to be awesome." - Rocksteady
The game is scheduled to launch later this year, June 23rd was the last announced push back. It will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Batman super fans and collectors might also be interested in a $200 Arkham Knight special edition that comes with a model Batmobile.
