With Nathan Drake's final adventure in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, pushed to 2016, the PS4 is going to have survive without his presence for a few months longer. That is, until we get this beautiful Uncharted trilogy release date after E3 2015. It's definitely going to happen people, Naughty Dog weren't simply working on remastering The Last of Us!
But Drake isn't the only Sony character from the past we'll be seeing on the PS4 this year. Last week we received the rather peculiar announcement that [God of War](movie:449823) 3 will get a remastered release on July 14th, 1080p, 60 fps and all! Sony are searching for something to fill the Christmas space for their NextGen console now that Uncharted 4 has left us, and with the sight of God of War 3 hitting our shelves this year, God of War 4 seems more likely than ever!
God of War 4 Replacing Uncharted 4 A Thief's End
Remasters are a rather peculiar phenomenon right now. Every single publisher is looking to capitalise on the idea of rereleasing their greatest hits for the Xbox One and PS4. The most recent one that I've heard of is the [Batman: Arkham Series](tag:2586475) remastering from Rocksteady. Thankfully Arkham Origins won't be included in the pack, but to be honest, I really don't get the point of Asylum and City getting a remastering...do you?
It's also a bit strange that only God of War 3 will be getting the remaster treatment, with its predecessors staying locked to the past. Our bet, is that Santa Monica Studios and Sony are gearing us up for the release of God of War 4, which was announced earlier this year!
God of War 4 At E3 2015
With the loss of Uncharted 4 A Thief's End from 2015, Sony are going to have to really surprise us at E3 later this year. What kind of reveals do you feel they could unveil for us all? God of War 4, Jak and Daxter 4 or even The Last Guardian?! We shall have to wait and see, but the sight of God of War 3 has alarm bells ringing in a lot of our ears!
What do you think Sony's big release for this year will be? Could it be an armada of indie games headed by [No Man's Sky](tag:2684052) , or have they got a triple A surprise for us all? We need something to fill the gap after Uncharted 4's delay, and personally, I'd be totally fine with that filler being God of War 4!
God of War 4 Story
But I'm interested in thinking whether Kratos will in fact head a fourth instalment in the God of War franchise. Would it be the same for all of you if that furious god were to depart from the series? I'm always up for change, and it would certainly be interesting to see whether a franchise like God of War could survive without its protagonist.
Where else could they go though after God of War 3? Could we see a new god? A prequel? A direct sequel to GoW3? Did Kratos survive? Be sure to let us know in the comments how you'd like to see God of War 4 carry on the legacy of the series! Are you paining over the loss of Uncharted 4 too?
