Although it feels like The Office only just went off the air and my Thursdays suddenly freed up, it turns out that we first tuned into the Dunder Mifflin, Scranton office a decade ago today on March 24, 2005. It feels like just yesterday that I was watching the first episode...okay, so that was just yesterday. Thank you, Netflix!

Let's take a look at the cast of The Office from the first pilot season, to today. Keep in mind, this only includes the main characters who appeared in the first season, so there won't be any Andy, Erin, Karen, Holly, or anyone from the Scranton-Stanford merger. With that in mind, let's see the differences between the first season of The Office and what the cast is doing today:

Michael Scott - Steve Carell

Recent projects: [Foxcatcher](movie:264060), [The Big Short](movie:1289411)

Phyllis Vance - Phyllis Smith

Recent projects: [Trophy Wife](series:958127), [Inside Out](movie:332779)

The Office trivia: Phyllis' character was in the same grade as Michael Scott in high school, but since Scott was held back a year her character is actually younger than him. In real life, however, Smith is 11 years older than Steve Carell.

Ma Baby," and "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)."

Creed Bratton - Creed Bratton

The Office trivia: Creed Bratton is the only actor who has the same first and last name as his character. He ended up playing essentially a parody of himself in the show when it was revealed in the series finale that he was the lead guitarist for The Grass Roots in the '60s, which is actually true!

So here we are 10 years later looking back on the very first, six-episode season of [The Office](series:723298). After re-watching the first season, it's really clear how much each of the character evolved and developed over the course of the nine seasons. Happy anniversary, everyone!

Even though it's hard to imagine anyone else playing these roles today, thanks to some old audition footage we can see how different the show could have looked! Take a look at some of the other famous actors who almost joined us in Scranton, PA:
