Favorite Superheroes...hmmm. Is it really easy to just pick 5? Can you even properly give them a true order?

I got my first comic books as a young boy because my oldest brother had a collection when he was growing up. He passed away 6 years before I was even born; so comics became the best connection I had to him. I cherished each comic I found of his. Poured over and through them. Became each hero's biggest fan, and each villain became my arch-nemesis. As I got older I began to pick and choose one way or the other. Even growing to love certain villains more than I did some heroes. But through it all, I grew to love these stories, characters, everything about comics.

So, if I HAD to pick just five...in no particular order....these would be the ones.

#5 Captain Marvel/Shazam

What young boy or doesn't wish they could just say a magic word and become a nearly all-powerful hero? Seriously...

#4 The Incredible Hulk

We all have a monster inside of us...but is it really controllable?? You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

#3 Thor Odinson

OK...ok. He's a god, basically. But I always just wished I were worthy of Mjolnir. Plus, the Norse mythology angle always made his stories so cool.

#2 Green Lantern

I grew up with Hal Jordan. No disrespect to the others, but Hal will always be my Lantern. "In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let all who worship evil's might, beware my power, Green Lantern's LIGHT!"

#1 Doctor Strange

Magic....mystery, monsters, medical...ok, no more alliteration. But seriously, what's not to enjoy about Stephen Strange and his journey to becoming Sorcerer Supreme.

Like I said, these were in no particular order. I could have added five more, ten more. There's almost no end to the list. But these five made a connection with me growing up. That's what comics are about, I think. Some kid, somewhere, making a connection to some drawings on a page. Taking them on some fantastical journey to some far-off place. If only for a few minutes.

Alright, that's my list. Love it or hate it, those are the 5 Superheroes I went with. This was my first post, I won't ask you to be gentle...I just hope I was able to get my love and history with comics across. Read on fellow comic lovers, read on.
