J.K. Rowling has long been vocal on social media. Whether she's responding to fan's questions or throwing out tricky anagrams for us to solve, for being an extremely famous author, she's really in touch with her fanbase.
The other day, the Harry Potter author once again took to Twitter to engage with her followers and respond to a few questions. Of the many tweets directer her way, Rowling chose to respond to the following tweet by a fan regarding Dumbledore's sexual preference:
As we know, after the series concluded, Rowling announced that Dumbledore's relationship with Grindelwald was more than platonic, confirming Harry Potter's first gay character.
In true J.K. Rowling fashion, her response was short, sweet, and awesome:
To be fair, we shouldn't assume that the fan was trying to say that they were expecting Dumbledore to actually look any different, but was likely wondering what in the books indicated Dumbledore's sexual preference.
In a lovely turn of Internet events to what could have been a highly inflammatory subject, the fan's response turned out to be very sweet!
Even though she understood what Rowling was saying, she couldn't help but keep her ships at bay. I mean, how often do you get to talk to one of the most famed authors of all time?
Ana, I'm with you on that one. I was team McGonnadore for a pretty long time.
This was, as far as fan interactions go, a very nice one with a very sweet result.
Just remember, if characters like Harry Potter and Tom Riddle can find a home at Hogwarts, anyone can.
So, in some not-so-surprising news, J.K. Rowling continues to inspire people everywhere and be a total badass. Everyone wins today. Cheers all around!
